I think it's just a couple of torx bolts and a wire harness...I think the torx bolts are behind the steering wheel. It's that simple just remember to disconnect the battery and leave it disconnected until it is all put back together. Connecting the battery without the airbag will cause the airbag light to stay on until it is reset by dealership.

No bolts.

First, disconnect the battery. Seriously.

Second, stick a small flat head screwdriver in the hole in the bottom of the steering wheel. Make sure the blade is facing front to back, not side to side. Push up and you will feel one side of the airbag release. Keep pushing up and the other side will release. That's it.

I looked and I dont see any torx bolt or any covers. I removed the whole steering column from the car and nothing!

btw: I'm not too worried about an airbag light at this point

Hopefully when you figure out how to remove it, you will replace it for the next buyer.

Clock Spring

Hi All,

I also need to replace my airbag on the steering wheel.
I found ADAMSALTAMINI's instuctions (Thanks!)
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ght=r56+airbag

But I believe the clock spring needs to be replaced also.
Does anybody know what needs to be replaced exactly?
Is it just the part under the wheel?
OR is it the whole assembly, turn signal switches and all?

Thanks!
