Control Arm Bushing install and review

I know others have done this, but I wanted to add a few things. The 1st link is to pics of the install with helpful captions. While it's a job that you "could" do at home, I'd pay the 2 hours to have it done. Even with the right tools and lift the 1st side was a PIA, while the 2nd side was cake. Just be ready to spend the time and be safe. USE JACK STANDS

Special Thanks to Glenn at www.thecoopershopinc.com for helping me with the install.

The 2nd link is where I got my Power Flex bushings. Moss had the best price and shipped them super fast too. Hope you find this helpful.

After a tank of gas, I LOVE the Powerflex bushings. @ 83K my OEM's were going bad fast. The PF provide so much more positive feedback at the wheel. The steering is RIGHT NOW and push hard though a corner with much more feel.

The day to day driving didn't change at all. I have feel no additional vibrations due to the PF bushings. This is a great suspension mod

They do make quite a difference... Dr. Mike also found out that his rear trailing arm bushings were shot at 60k miles and found that swapping them made a big difference in the rear, too.

I also have the fronts, my bushings only had 30k on them so they weren't too bad yet. But I also felt the immediate steering response. I also seem to feel a softer...yes softer, ride with these in, don't ask me how or why...its just the way it feels now.

I have the rears in the closet just a matter of time before they go in too

Thanks for the pictorial!

Somewhere along the line I've also seen a write-up for another way to do this including popping out the ball joint and using the MINI/BMW tool for removing the OEM bushing. Anyone know where this write-up might be?

Also, does anyone have a procedure for removing the rear trailing arms to install the PowerFlex 'helper' bushing?

It took a bit to find it but here is the link for the write-up using the BMW tool to extract and install the bushings.

These are great for sure...and with such great steering response, and a wider than stock front track, I'm driving without a rear bar.

There is a tad more understeer than with the Webb set halfway, but for the street this is more than acceptable.
