Today I flipped down the LH visor and the vanity mirror assembly fell out hanging by the wires. Looks like the hinge points are also broken because the lid does not spring open far enough to keep the switch on. Of course the other clue about the hinge is the broken plastic at the hinge points and the spring clips protruding out.
I guess the previous owner must have worn this thing out but I am sure I checked it when I was looking to buy this car and it was fine. I know I never use it because I really don't care what I look like....
Bottom line is I'm going to try to fix it by installing VHB backed velcro to the visor substrate and mirror. At $75 for a replacement visor (as seen on an online site) I'll try my fix first.
This is more of a little rant because its too late to go out right now to mess with it and I am watching Tampa Bay beat up on the Red Sox. I'm just wondering if this is common or just one of those little MINI annoyances. I know there are plenty with my Dodge truck.
