R56 Spare Tire??

Maybe i'm using the search wrong, but i can't seem to find a 2007 MCS thread for a spare tire? Anyway i found some for sale, but they were over $200!!!

Is there anything else anyone is using for a spare on an '07 MCS? I don't care if it only fits the back wheel and i need to take off a rear tire and switch with the rear as long as it fits... any ideas or suggestions? i don't care if it's a civic donut or whatever just as long as it fits and i can bolt it in without doing all sorts of cutting/sanding on the donut to make it fit...

Fix-a-flat and a compact compressor. Works great and only about $40 total.

I purchased a civic 2004-2006 spare 4x100 for $60 shipped. There are other threads here from people who have used it. I hope it works I think the only issues if the holes are really 12mm or will fit th 14mm of the lugs on the cooper.

I am waiting for our vehicle to showup. It is only in production right now. I already have a spare tire, amplifier, speakers, subwoofer. Custom Stripes on order. About to order wheels. All we need now is the Clubman.

I would search for Civic Donut or Civic Spare tire PM other people who have done this?

Some people are using the Mini factory spare from the MC on the MCS. You can use the regular MC spare in the rear only. If you go this way and have a front flat, you will have to change 2 tires and it is expensive.

Putting a full sized spare into the trunk is extremely cargo limiting.

I am still searching for a reasonable solution having gone to non RFT on my 08 MCS. I guess AAA and the green slime kit works for now.

At least in the Clubman there is room for the spare.

I carry:
Slime kit with compressor
Dynaplug kit
Regular vulcanized plug kit
AAA card
cell phone

While I DO drive some places without cell coverage, usually it's with other MINIs... or on roads that get some traffic with friendly people. I don't drive through bad inner city neighborhoods... or my strategy would be different.

I hit a chunk of a concrete block that fell out of the truck ahead of me and killed a runflat at 7,000 miles. I've been on non-runflats for 25,000 miles now with no punctures... yet...

Has anyone used the slime kit on an MCS....does the slime render the tire sensors useless? Any reason not to use a slime kit on an R56 MCS?

Yes, no longer operational, thats the main down side. Many owners cary a plug kit, and use sealant as a last ditch effort.

Lots of 4X100 using cars in the junkyard. If you don't mind moving the rear up if there is an issue, it should be easy to find something that works.

I like the Dynaplug system a lot. Much cleaner and easier than traditional plugs. Sometimes you have to use two to get it to seal because of the small diameter of the plugs. But it's so clean and easy, that's no big deal.

I would hope and think that a 14" AL rim that is 4 x 100 from an Integra the clear the rears and can be had for like 20 bucks. Then a 185/70/14 All seaons for 60 bucks.
