S-Winders or Bridge Spokes?

I’m about to order my ’09 Mini Cooper S (PW/B, Premium, Cold Weather, Convenience) and can’t make up my mind between the included wheels; S-Winders or Bridge Spoke? What do you think? Let me see your pictures.

Get the bridge spokes for now and find some nice (and cheaper than ordering from MINI) aftermarket wheels that you'll love!

Bridgespokes for Winter

Bridgespokes are a good-looking and serviceable wheel. However, like nearly all MINI OEM wheels, they are dreadfully heavy. You might want to think about ordering all-season runflats with Bridgespokes, to save for use during winter snow season (depending of course on where you are located). Then when you take delivery, immediately order a set of lightweight aftermarket rims and grippy non-runflat tires. This may be the best suspension/performance upgrade you can make.

We got Bridgespokes for both Tristan and Shawn, mainly because they'd be the easiest to clean, less little nooks for dust to get stuck in. The dust is much worse with white wheels, which you won't have.

I got the S-winders because everyone and their brother has the bridge spokes. I'll probably swap them out for aftermarket wheels once I find a set I like for a good price.

We selected S-Winders due to (1) less selected wheel style and (2) WAY easier to keep clean due to its more open architecture>>

But each to his own and thank goodness for a wide range of wheels to choose from

I like the bridge spoke because, with the exception of the crown spoke on the 17's, they are the closest to the classic mini wheel style.

Just pays a little homage to the past.

I've got both sets of wheels. I like them both, but prefer the bridge spokes. Here's a couple of photos showing each on my car.

I've been really happy with the bridge spokes. Not too bad to keep clean, and I think they look nice.

Couldn't Decide...

I couldn't make up my mind, so I got two s-winders on the driver's side and the bridge spokes on the passenger side. If I feel like s-winders, I get in the normal way. If it's a bridge spoke kind of day, I climb in through the passenger door.

Oh, and if I really can't decide, I just climb in through the back hatch...

S Winders.

They are a couple of pounds lighter and look better IMHO.

I like the s-winders although most prefer the bridgespokes.

S-winders are lighter.

I went with the bridge spokes, but if they were available, I would have went with the 5-star blasters found on the Cooper.

I got the Bridge Spokes since I did not like the S-Winders at all. They looked a bit tacky compared to the clean look of the Bridge Spokes. Also, the Bridge Spokes looked easier to clean and looked a bit more classy.

But, like many options on the MINI, get what you would want.

My wife ordered her '07 MCS with bridge spokes. They've since been relegated to winter duty.

Bridge Spokes it is!

Looks like bridge spokes are the winner. Thanks for your input!
