'09 new color(s)?

I saw mention of "Horizon Blue" coming in February over in the BRG or lightning blue thread. I followed the link and saw some reports but the reports and pages looked like they were a work in progress or still finding out more. I also did see talk of Jet Black coming replacing the Astro black.

Anyone "in-the-know" about the new colors that might be coming or changing for 09 or later on even? Anyone know how deeper/darker or lighter/vivid this Horizon color is going to be? (personally i'd love to see a deep "chrome-orange" like Lotus has)

I would love to know more about this new color! I really love Oxygen Blue but it's a MC only color, so that just leaves LiB & LB. Both are nice but not what I'm really looking for after seeing them in person.
I saw the same post but no links, so I began a thread hoping those owners in the know would respond. Hopefully you can supply me with a link?

The Lotus orange would be a great color though my preference would be for MINI to offer McLaren Orange!

Still waiting for more non-metallics to be offered... Like that will ever happen! BMW/MINI likes getting that extra $500 for the metallic paint jobs!

We got news from our MA Amanda White at South Bay MINI who is also a member of our car club. The exact quote from our August newsletter is:
"We are retiring some of our colors as well. After November production we will no longer have Astro Black or Lightning Blue, they will be replaced by Midnight Black and Horizon Blue respectively."
I have not seen any other formal announcement to back this up but I'm sure it is very reliable.

there they are!
Hm, I'm not a big fan of that color of blue. horizon blue is a little late on the scene. It's been done already by alot of other companies. Theres a billion horizon blue honda, GM, 80's K-cars, and sedans out there. Yep, A non-metalic BRG and a deep Chrome Orange
(as in this 1280x960 link)

would be my favorites fo rthe new cycle.

anyway, I like the Midnight black. after a nice clay bar detailing and complete wet look wax polish would be stunning. Anytime you can get a car to look like another color because of its total mirror reflectiveness, it looks awesome!

anyone know how many colors they change each year they do this? just 2?

Wow, I'm shocked. Why get rid of Lightning Blue? I believe that you should always offer a non-metallic red, white and black, so I'm glad to see the midnight black, but getting rid of lightning blue for horizon blue?.......hmmmm

Awesome. Chrome orange with black roof for the racers and chrome orange with a pepper white roof for the chromers...the 'Creamsicle' edition.

I agree with the Lotus Elise chrome orange. If Mini USA were to add chrome orange for the Mini Cooper S and European Delivery I'd be down at the dealership signing the paperwork for one!
