Bonnet Stripes Install

Greetings from the other side of the MINIverse. I just put down my deposit last night and ordered an 09 MY/B MCS. But while I was talking to my MA about bonnet stripes, he made sure to inform me that if I thought I wanted them, now was the best time to decide. That's because if you order them up front, they are a factory installed option and there is no installation charge. If you wait, then the dealer installs them (or perhaps the VDC) and then they'll tack on another $100 or so to install them.

I only point this out, because I never saw any information on the bonnet stripes when snooping around for info on dealer/VDC/factory installed options.

Happy motoring!

If you get clear bra installed you want to make sure the stripes are installed on top of it.

Honestly, I'd install with the bonnets. It looks good and factory installs them- if you ever get bored of them (which I read that you probably will couple years from now), just take them off. Simple.

Im a big fan of that one stripe on the left side- but will get the traditional bonnets just because I really enjoy that look. A throw back to old school for me. If I want to change it, its a $30 sticker, and I'll install myself. Better than wasting another $100 on install, which is very expensive.

Thanks! I forgot to mention that. The clear bra is a dealer installed option, so that would make the stripes dealer installed too, if you want them both.

+1 on the point about clear bra.

The factory stripes are the ones that run wide towards the bonnet edges. If you want the Sport Stripes that run down the middle they are strictly a VDC/Dealer option (or buy them separately and and have your own installer do them).

My suggestion is go to a local truck lettering/sign shop and have them do it. I ordered stripe extensions from a NAM vendor and it took a really long time to get them and the vinyl was not the best quality. The loacl place [FastSigns] had them on in 15 minutes for 35 bucks and the additional vinyl I bought was mcuh cheaper and better quality.

By the way I do not have any affiliation with FastSigns. They only put my stripes on.
