Koni Yellows - Rear Setting

With 70K on my stock SS+ shocks, I am starting to think about replacements. I do a fair amount of autox and plan on doing a couple of HPDEs per season as well.

Most folks here have been running Koni yellows. I would consider them but only if I can get good autox/track performance and still communte to work in reasonable comfort without having to deal with adjusting the rears.

Some folks have mentioned they leave the rears around half turn and just adjust the fronts for street vs track. What I can't get my head around is, if you turn the fronts down to soft for comfort, wouldn't the car be more likely to oversteer on the road?

With my set-up today, the car is already mostly neutral and happy to rotate with lift throttle mid turn. Running full soft front and half turn rear would make it even more willing to do that no?

(stuff like this drives me nuts... adjustability is such a double edged sword... this is why the FSD and Bilstein SPs are still higher up on my list.)

You might wanna poke around in the Suspension mods forums instead. Not that the question is OT for the section but because those threads have a lot more traffic (and there's a lot of people in there who aren't in here). But my $.02 says a lot of people who have Yellows probably already have the other standard chassis mods (rear sway, camber plates, maybe control arms) and have set them at half turn and have no issues.

Thanks. Is there any way that I can move the topic over to the suspension mods? Would rather not have two identical threads in two places.

I pinged your post so a mod should move it. You have a 1st Gen, right? I'm assuming so with 70k miles.

I run my Yellows w/ TSW springs in the rear AND front at 1/2 from full stiff which is around 1 turn.

I love this set-up on the street...and works on the track not too shabby too

QFT. lol. The folks at GRM were running FSDs on their justaCooper and doing very well in SCCA Solo H-stock. However, for the following season, they did switch to Koni DA racing struts for the rear on race day. Hey, if one has the budget...
