What is the best way to clean/protect RIMS.
What is the best way to clean/protect RIMS.
I have a mcs on order and it should be here mid sept. As I am waiting I saw 2 coopers with white rims like mine and they both were filthy. It seems the brake dust is an issue just like all bmw products. Does anyone have white rims and if so what is your method to keep them clean.

It depends on your level of OCD. I cleaned my white wheels twice a day using a Quick Detailer and a microfiber towel. After about 20,000 miles I changed to lower dusting pads (Mintex Redbox pads), and could go 2 days without cleaning before the dust became noticable.

I treat the wheels just as I do the rest of the car including the glass, Epic, Banana Gloss, and Hydro after washing. Brake dust is always going to be there but you can make it tougher for it to stick on your wheels.
Holly smokes! Twice a day. That is dedication!

I run and sell the Bobcat pads on my white wheels and they stay much cleaner then any other pad I have run or seen on others.

Thanks for all the replies. Yeah twice a day seems extreme and not what I want to do; However your cooper with white rims looks great. I will look into the wheel armour, I was eyeballing it on detailers paradise. Changing pads might be a good idea, for my second pair, but I think with my budget I will be running the oems.
Wheel Wax also works well to make it easier to remove the brake dust.

Best solution is different pads.
