I'm still in "break-in mode" near 700 miles. But that only means I'm not taking it above 4500rpm ... "much". Reset the average after the 1st tank. @ 28.6mpg average on the computer; average speed 29mph. The latter so low surprises me with about 33% or so of this average driven hiways. Guess I have to thank all the back & forth into & outta town, and the redlights. But surprisingly, when about 100 miles have been mostly around 30mph, sometimes 40mph, a lot of stoplights & stopsigns, I was getting 29mpg. I don't expect to get that in the "real" city however, vying for the front-spot from redlight to redlight.

33mpg if I drive it the way that makes me happy but and I've hit 40mpg on an experiment that involved semis overtaking me. My commute is 150 miles round trip and mostly highway.

I'm at 800 miles on my Factory JCW Clubman. Averaged 30 even on the first tank. Total average is up to 33 now (didn't reset at the refill) with the second tank just about out.

So far I've been driving probably 60-70% highway. I've been keeping it around 70 on the highway, but was noticing on the way into work today that it shows me getting better gas mileage at 80mph...no idea why.

I have >2000 miles and average 34 mpg, mostly highway. Can get up to 38 mpg if I watch my speed (below 70 mph).

I'm just curious, are these numbers coming from the OBC or are they calculated from actual fuel consumption versus mileage. I've noticed from my '08 MCS that the OBC is about 1-3 mpg optimistic over real-world mpg.

OBC seems to off by about 8% based on my calculations from the number gallons pumped into the car.

Just turned over 3000 miles on my 2008 MCS. I've never reset the OBC and since new the OBC shows 38.3mpg in mixed city/suburban/highway driving... admittedly driving the speed limit, but none of the extreme hypermileage stuff.

Reads 29.1 mpg on the computer. Just tanked up, and calculates out to 28.1 mpg. I guess I still have a heavier foot than most even tho I thought I was going way way easy during brake-in... I have been having some fun on take-offs lately. :D Anyway, 33.1 mph average. Still thought I did a good deal more hi-way than that, but that's what it says.
