If a = slipping belt, then b = higher oil temps?

I'm assuming I have a slipping belt as I my oil temps on the highway are encroaching 260F... Would a slipping belt cause this issue? I have noticed I'm running a lower amount of boost as well...

I bought the car @ 75,000 miles... @ 82,000 miles, I installed a 15% pulley. Webb used the same stock belt... Now I'm currently @ 110,000 miles.

Boost is approx. 12.5 lbs... Shouldn't I be in the vicinity of 15 lbs of boost?

My main concern is the higher oil temps. I could care less about the boost. I have peaked at 300F, but that was on a track running pretty hard...

Any help would be appreciated. I'm planning on swapping to a new NAPA belt here soon.

Definitely get a smaller NEW belt to eliminate the slipping and possible failure.

Oil temps are not associated with a slipping belt but can be an indication of old or wrong viscocity oil. The temps you are seeing are on the high side, especially when getting over 260. Change the oil, if needed, to a top quality synthetic.

Well, I've had the oil changed 2 times since I've noticed the higher temps... I'm also running 5W30 Mobile 1 synthetic...

I also would have thought that with the supercharger being associated with the water pump, as the engine temps increase, there would be an increase in oil temps...meaning my water pump is not cooling the engine enough... Any more info would be appreciated. Thanks

It's possible there's something up with the cooling system. There is a way of using the MINI's computer to display the actual coolant temp. Do a search over on MINI2 and you should be able to find the instructions. I know Webb had issues with oil temps on the track with a 19% pulley because the water pump was cavitating. If your belt is severely slipping, maybe it's not spinning fast enough.

well you definetly need to change that belt, the stock belt is just too long and your 12 lbs is low, you should be seeing 15 lbs more or less

Thats what I was thinking... Well, I'll have to give the belt a shot and see if that changes anything. Then I'll go from there Thanks.
