I went to the dealership today, quite alot of empty space now that the BMW part of the dealership is gone. I asked the parts man (I think it was Bob), if this is going to last, and he was sure they were making money. When I got the bill I think I found out why.

MINI-FILTER ELEMENT (P/N 11-42-7-512-446) List $15.73

Last July, same filter listed for $8.70

Club discount sure doesn't look to make up the difference on this.

I know we are faced with a week dollar, but Pelican Parts indicates $10.25 for the Genuine BMW part.

Is it just me, or is this the new STL Mini Parts Pricing?

In my experience, some of the MINI of St. Louis part prices are not very competitive. I believe the discount is 10% off whatever their regular price is.

 

A good way to buy parts is use points from the MyMINI Credit Card. I have had one since my first MINI and have never paid for a part, always paid for with points, which can be used at any MINI dealership!

Same experience here, in for maintenance check and bought 2 filter expecting a $20 odd dollar bill and it was over $30
