DIY Striping??

Anybody applied their own bonnet and boot stripes and if so what was the degree of difficulty?

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being hard and 1 being easy I would describe my first attempt at doing my own Boot Stripes as a 3.
And they came out perfect, unlike the bonnet stripes from the factory that are not straight and the dealer refuses to replace them for free.
I have installed Rally Lights on my MINI and it is now quite obvious that the bonnet stripes are not on correctly.
So I guess my next project will be to replace the bonnet stripes with some new ones from aestheticreations.net

Here's a couple of threads that have already covered this subject with some good advice:
Boot Stripes: DIY Install (with pics).
DIY stripe install. PIcs.

I've been wondering this myself, and both of those linked threads are of interest to me given that my MA said they'd do the striping for $300+!!!

I like the prices of Aesthetic Creations, quite frankly. And they look very good.

I did it 2 days ago (check out BOLD to be different thread). It cost me 32.95 for the sport stripes and the Family decals.

I would say the about 7...here's the tip: unroll the stripes Leave the stripes in the sun for 10 minutes (if they shipped them rolled up), push out all the air bubbles then start put them down.

Depends on the stripe. The one above is thin, already curved and is positioned where the bonnet is not bulged. I chose different stripes that were straight, thick and had to go half on and half off the center bulge part of the bonnet and come out looking straight. The stripe had to be heavily manipulated during the install, so I left it to someone that had done it before. I watched, and was glad I didn't attempt it:

That's where I bought mine, and a striper/tinter charged me $60 to install.
