Did I miss something? Thought Astro Black was to be discontinued for a new black? Or should I say, rumored.

 

My '09 order sheet says "Astro Black metallic paint" so I'm thinking it was just a rumor...

 

Midnight Black (A94) will replace Astro Black (A25) and Horizon Blue (A93) will replace Lightning Blue (A63).

 

Have you seen new Midnight black? I imagine it doesn't have the reported "blue tint" or "blue sparkles" like the Astro black has? Is it blacker?

I like the blackness, but I'm not waiting until December...

(I just ordered a '09 MCS Astro Black/Black... just got the production number yesterday)!

 

Supposedly, it is a pure black, no blue. But it is metallic.

Sorry to hijack.....Do you have any idea what the Horizon Blue will look like? From the name I'm wondering if it might be a metallic version of Oxygen Blue.

I doubt that considering it replacing Lightning, they are getting rid of Astro, and that they already have a lighter shade of blue with Laser, I'd bet its a dark blue, or at least on the darker side of Laser. Not to mention it will be available for the MC (which will still have OB) as well as the MCS.

To me, Horizon Blue suggests a dark-ish metallic blue with purple undertones.

So I guess maybe it will be a pretty light blue. Seems too similar to Oxy Blue to me.
