What A Beauty!

In hope that I'm not violating a forum policy by posting these pictures, I simply had to share these here. I know this isn't a Clubman, but since I will be ordering one in a few months and have been lurking here for some time now, I feel most at home here.

I saw this yesterday and couldn't believe my eyes. Does anyone know what year it is? Can anyone fill in some details? What are the two fixtures that look like gas caps on the rear corners? And four driving lights?!

Well, what a beauty is all I can say.

Send a PM to someone on the Classic MINI forum https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...splay.php?f=48 and I bet they'll know.

A beauty is right!

I was just a heart beat away from saying yes to purchasing a classic Mini in the Miami area a couple of months ago. I was going to fly in, pick it up, and then drive all the way to far West Texas. I talked myself out of it for a few reasons. I settled for a '67 Bug from Arizona instead. I look at the images above and still wonder if I did the right thing. Very nice Mini and oh, I'm not sure but dual fuel tanks may mean it is a Cooper or even and "S". Not really sure though.

1970 Prove me wrong.

---added : I had to do a www search to confirm what I thought. I don't forget beautiful cars or women.

Here's pics of the same car, I believe.

Great work, everyone. For someone yet to buy a Cooper, this is very encouraging and such a blast.

The dash looks different in your posted pictures, DragonWagon. There are fewer large dials on the dashboard in the pictures I took than in the one you've posted. How much of a difference that makes, I don't know.

If I see it again, I'll look around for the owner.

That's a cool Mini there. It's not the same car as the Bay Area one in the link (I don't think). The CO car here has the big Mini speedo in the center, the CA car has guages in front of the driver, no big speedo. The CO car has the filler necks on the corners, the CA car doesn't. One has 4 Dls, the other only 2.

Rever, in the bloggers writeup, he mentioned that he changed the dash after puchasing the Mini. Seats, too.
