2009 Color Scheme Dilemma

My wife is going back and forth between a 2009 Mellow Yellow Cooper and an 2009 Oxygen Blue Copper. She was leaning towards the Mellow Yellow with Antracite Headliner, Mellow Yellow Color Line, Piano Black Interior Surface and the Black/Grey Leatherette seats. However, the 2009 configuration has taken away the Mellow Yellow Color Line as an option, so could someone please suggest some other really good choices interior-wise for Mellow Yellow. Furthermore, if she went the other route - any good choice suggestions interior-wise for Oxygen Blue. Thanks!

Both are great color choices but only you can decide what you like. As far as color lines, dash choices etc. Do you like contrasting interiors or complimentary interiors. I would consider the wood and piano black interior surface to be complimentary on most of the interiors, while the aluminum or sliver dash to be contrasting on most of the interiors. All look great it just depends on if you want subdued (complimentary) or flashy (contrasting). The chrome interior can also throw in some flash and don't forget the dealer installed checkered surface, also a great look.

With Piano Black, Anthracite Headliner (what I have), and no Yelowline Interior available, I'd stay with the standard colorline. If you aren't happy with it, and don't mind a bit of DIY, you can get leather armrest covers, shift boot, and ebrake boot in a wide choice of colors from Redline.

They have a Light Yellow in leather

and Yellow Carbon Fiber Vinyl.

I did this and wrote some installation instructions:

OK, let's start with the 'weasel box' (as in, I don't know if this would work and if it doesn't, don't blame me). I haven't seen my idea in the flesh, but for that matter I haven't seen my MINI yet either.

I actually combined the Oxy Blue w/ the Mellow Yellow color line. At first I think my MA may have thought me a bit whacked out, but the more he thought about it, the more he seemed to like it because the hues (I think that's the right term) were complimentary. Since the MY color line is no longer available, I wonder about the possibility of the cream white color line with Oxygen Blue. Because I'm not crazy about dark interiors, I got the Gotham Grey (which I also don't see in '09). Since I still have at least two weeks to second-guess my original selections, I'm considering adding the checkerboard dash & the chrome line interior. Still iffy on those... I too have the leatherette seats.

Good luck with your order!

Yes, I think the White Colorline alone would be a bit odd. It would need Tuscan beige to go with it. However, I'm not sure how well that combination would go with Oxy Blue. It would be good with Mellow Yellow. English Oak would be a go nicely with Tuscan & WCL.

Wow... I can not believe they eliminated the yellow colorline... only have had our car a couple days but everyone that looks at it comments how cool/wow/stunning etc the interior is with the colorline>>

Obviously am partial to MeloYelo so my vote would be to get that color and have the interior done aftermarket...

And of course each to his own (thank goodness...how boring it would be if we all had the same tastes)... but I added the all black JCS grill which I think even offsets the Yelo more...

Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply/share. I'd greatly appreciate if other Oxygen Blue and Mellow Yellow Owners could share how they did they interiors.
MeloR56/Michael, the Yellow Color Line is absolutely beautiful in Me'lo.
Cybergypsy, congratulations on the long awaited birth of APPLE.

I did not do this for the color, but rather to cover the 4" thick #5 T-Foam (Memory Foam) that I added to my leatherette seats.

All the newer autos I have sat in have 'firmer' cushion than I like, was spoiled by my 1988 LeBaron's seats.

That is the Lumbar Support inflation 'squeeze bulb' seen on the seat.

I have an extra yard or so and (since that photo) have covered my 'Euro' Armrest and just got some more T-Foam
and plan to cover the Door Armrests as well.

Wet Okole has three shades of yellow, this is '318' and is 'more' yellow than Mellow Yellow,
they have one that is 'more' orange than Mellow Yellow as well
and they will send free swatches for you to to see.

I thank Robin for providing the advice on Door Armrest covering.

Wow! that's a yellow car. You couldn't find an option for yellow seats though?

We deleted the colour line (chose the grey one instead) from ours, they wanted to give us a matching colourline with the blue or red (leather trimmed) seats. We thought the colour line as well as the seats was a little much.
