Hi everyone

i have the jcw tuning kit installed on my mcs which was and still is great! however I still want more! Has anyone tuned a jcw tuned mini?! can anyone recommend the next mod?

Hi-flow cat/turbo down pipe and bigger inter-cooler would be where I'd start. Then work on taking out any restrictions and inefficiencies in the charge system like the pre inter-cooler muffler etc, get the ITG filter for the JCW air box. Also see the thread on the JCW Factory car turbo inlet hose. Just my ideas though!

 

thanks for the ideas, i like the sound of changing the downpipe, can you/anyone suggest the best one for the job?! Also does the Alta intercooler fit ok behind the jcw front bumper? I replaced the air filter for the mini madness one... has anyone seen both that and the ITG? which is best?! My dad gets his factory jcw next saturday so can hopefully get some part numbers for turbo inlet hose etc!

 

Your in the UK so i would suggest looking at the GT Tuning downpipe. What they do is take your stock down pipe and remove one of the cats leaving the less restrictive. Benefits being that it looks stock so no hassle from the dealer. Other option is the Milltek downpipe both similar prices. If your after the part numbers for the factory JCW turbo inlet tube look in the thread i mentioned.

As for the ALTA intercooler, I've heard noises about issues with the newer UK cars and space to fit. you will have to investigate that, in the UK Lohen would be the best place to enquire. Forge motorsport do an intercooler as well, so worth a look!
