J.D. Power Survey on 2008 Clubman
Just received a J.D. Power "New Vehicle Quality Survey" for the 2008 Clubman Cooper - did any of you find one in your mail?
Obviously many of you would get the 2008 Clubman Cooper S version.

LOL - true, at least on this board.
I will give mine high marks except for the DAMNED roof rack!
P.S. Just noticed that they paid me a dollar to do this! Buying votes?

I got mine over a month ago. Filled it out and sent it back. About 20 -30 minutes of your time. I filled it out based on having the car only a month or so. I have had the car since March. I got the survey in May.
Hmm - I wonder what kind of marks it will get...
Do they use this survey for "Initial Owner Satisfaction" (or whatever that one is called) as well?
I can see it getting good marks in satisfaction and mid pack marks for quality.
We shall see soon I guess.

They ask your current mileage...so I guess that's how they place you in your experience with the car at the time you filled out the survey. They do have a section for "other problems" that aren't options to check off.

I received mine last week, and was honest in filling it out. My moonroof does not work most of the time. My keyless entry on the driver's side has stopped working. And my dealership service has been lousy, besides being a three hour drive away.
Other than that, I think the car is worth the money, and is a blast to drive. Just wish the workmanship and the dealership would live up to the BMW reputation.

I was honest too, but really only have had two complaints - one of which was dealt with asap, and the other I have to get someone to go on a test drive with me to figure out.
What's does your dealership say and what have they done about your issues? 3 hours is a long haul to get to a dealership.

J.D. Powers Report
We have been in the mountains of Colorado for the last six weeks ..... just returned, but we really missed being able to use the moonroof out there with the beautiful, cool weather. Have had other issues with the dealership like ordering of accessories and non-returned phone calls.
I have not had an opportunity to set up an appointment for the moonroof and the door lock because we are just trying to catch up at home since returning from our trip. I do hope that the dealership will give us a "LOANER" if they are going to keep the car over a day while we stay at a motel in that city.
Just expected more from a BMW/Mini/Porsche/Audi/dealership.

I've got a little over 5k on my car. That's only weekend driving! I don't even use it to commute to work.
I complained about the speaker system, the lack of "ease of use" of the USB function, and the moonroof not opening without a push which I classified as a minor annoyance.

Just got my JD Survey today..
I bought my Clubman on Memorial Day, currently 5500 miles (started with 1500 when new).
Only "dings" given was the engine issue (High Pressure Fuel Pump replacement) and the right side rear speaker rattle when too much base.
Gave "9's and 10"s" for most other things..
Mailed that survey out right away!
I will spend the crisp new one dollar bill wisely!

I gave it all high marks, except for the driver window motor that needed replacing, but is now perfect with the new one installed. Moonroof troubles? None here. My remote works awesome as does the garage door opener on the mirror!

I got surveys from two different outfits when I bought the Passat, inquiring about initial satisfaction, and one either six months or a year out. If you're a subscriber to Consumer Reports, be sure to do their survey next spring.
ClubmanS....I guess you won't get the Crisp $1 bill....its like they have a money printer
at JD Powers! I wonder how many $1 bills they send out daily? I guess it could be alot, wonder if they have security at the envelop stuffer!? LOL

My JD Powers survey showed up this weekend, approximately 3 months after delivery.
I gave great marks for my Clubman S, with the exeption of two things.
1) The drivers side barn door has a black rubber stopper at the bottom. The friggin' thing fell off the week I picked my baby up. It wasn't installed, which meant a factory worker just stuck it under the door, waiting for it to fall off. The stopper has a notch, which fits over a screw in the back frame. This should be installed before the rear door weather stripping. Retards.
2) The $500 stereo upgrade is pure theft and we should all sue Mini via class action. The speakers are garbage. Bass+Volume=Total Distortion.
Other than that, it's been a blast.
I picked up a nail in a tire last week and went to the dealer when the dash lit up. The service tech pulled the nail out, but no leaking occurred. Spooky.
The nail went in sideways and the sensors picked it up. That was impressive. The TPMS notices more than air pressure.
Some of you ONLY got $1?

I just recieved a SECOND JD Power survey ... this one about the "purchase experience" ... just as detailed as the first one.
But I have to say, this $1/hr sweatshop pay rate is not working out. Will think about filling this one out
