Double stroller possible in the boot?

Has anyone been able to fit a double stroller in the boot without folding down any of the rear seats. We'll have two car seats installed in the rear seats, so folding down will not be an option for us. In addition, we have the Joovy Caboose Ultralight double stroller that we would like to put into the boot when we receive our Clubbie. If no one has a Joovy Caboose that they've been able to fit, how about fitting a universal stroller - the type that just carries an infant car seat or a Maclaren Techno XT?

I'm way past the stroller phase but measuring my cargo area with the seats up you have approx. 34W X 22.5D X 24H. Unfortunately with the seats down is where you gain your real space advantage.

Thats a pretty tall order. In going out in the garage and looking at our Clubman, I say no way without the seats down. We took a friends double stroller to Disneyland in our '99 4Runner years ago and it barely fit in there. That was 4 or so years ago and I don't think those strollers got that much smaller.

What about a roof rack? The racks are good looking.....its just hoisting that stroller up there thats not going to be fun.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the thoughts. So really, no one has been able to get a stroller of any type without first folding down a seat?

Our SINGLE Maclaren Quest will fit in their but it does require a degree of bodging to get it to fit. If the Techno double is a hair shorter it should fit OK. Your best bet is to take a stroller (along w/your car seats) to the dealer for a test fit on one of their demos. If you're unable to do that - use the measurements below to determine if it'll fit. The width (34") is pretty uniform so as long as your stroller is below that height when folded you should be good to go.

Are the rear seats capable of sliding forward at all?

I don't have a Clubman (yet). I still drive a "regular" sized MINI and have two kids. I have seen the Clubman's boot, though. I really don't think a Joovy Caboose will fit.
If you can manage with a single stroller or two single strollers I would HIGHLY recommend getting a Quinny Zapp. They are spendy like the Mac Techno, but I can guarantee that they will fit in your Clubman. They fold up so small that I can actually fit two Zapps in my regular Cooper. The Zapp was my kids favorite stroller. Here's a link to the manufacturers website: http://www.zapp.quinny.com/

Thanks for the reco. I may have to check out that Zapp if neither the Joovy or Maclaren fit.
