Hi New to the board and have a question

Hi All

I just got an 08 British Racing Green Clubman (3 months after ordered) and just after 3 weeks of delivery, I dented the weather stripping/belt-line on the driver side door (something fell on it while it was parked in the garage). Being so new, I want to replace it. How do I remove the weather stripping/belt line so I can replace it with a new one? I know that I can just get the belt-line tape and tape over it but I prefer the original look.

Thanks

Keith

a picture or two would really help us to help you.

It may be something you need to get from the dealer but if i could see exactly what you are talking about then i might be able to help you find something else that would work.

Thanks for the quick reply. I called the dealer and they said that tehy had the part in ($40). The called it the driver side weatehr strip/trim. I'll try to get u a pic but for now' I'll try to describe it the best that I can.

It is the outer chrome/black trim where the window meets the top of the door. If I were the have the window all the way down, the top of the window would be right below this trim. This trim is along the perimeter of the car but is broken at specific points such as hood to fender junction, door to rear wheel well junction, etc. I have seen the term beltlin floating around.

Yes that is the belt line. Well you really only have two options if you want straighten that to look like new. Remove the piece that is there and try to straighten it or repacle it with factory parts. Taking it off may damage it more though. and if it is only $40.00 it could be more of a hassle to try and repair it.
