i spoke with my credit union last week and asked them if they can match the 4.25% car loan offer from penfed. They agreed and had no problem as long as they have a printout of the offer. Unfortunately penfed just raised their raids to 4.5%.

Maybe somebody of you have a printout of the old offer and could send it to me.

Would you give us some more clarity around "printout"? Do you just need a screenshot of their website advertising the rate? (Easy to fake!) Do you need an offer letter describing the 4.25%? (Slightly more difficult to fake because your name is on it...).

 

You would probably need an offer letter as your Credit Union guy could easily check penfed's website to see that the rate has been increased to 4.5% and you don't want to appear as if you are trying to pull something over on them. If you didn;t get an offer letter at the 4.25% rate, just get one at 4.5% and have them match that.

 

Match it? You want them to BEAT it....make it worth your trouble to give them your business.
