If I go leather, need help picking color line and trim

It's time for me to just bite the bullet and order my clubman. It's not going to get here any sooner if I keep waiting! What I need help with is the interior. I'm thinking about blowing my wad and getting everything I want including the punch carbon leather, but would love to hear thoughts or see pictures of some of the different interiors.

What I will likely be getting is a laser blue with silver, no sunroof, anthracite headliner. I'm trying to decide about going with the blue color line (does it look cheesy? Does it match the laser blue ok?) I'm also trying to decide about the interior surface (will piano black be too dark with no sunroof+anthracite? What does fluid silver vs. brushed alloy look like compared to each other?)

Any thoughts or pictures would be welcome. thanks!

You are going for a very dark interior with the anthracite so you could continue, as you suggest, with the carbon leather if you want - but I prefer light interiors in dark cars so give a thought to the lighter options. My Tuscan Beige would look good in a blue car, IMHO.

But ... ?

I originally picked the LB with blue color line because I saw one at the Dealer. That combo looks great and matches perfectly fine! Brushed alloy is real metal and is a toned-down silver color. The Fluid Silver is a little brighter and made of plastic.
I settled with a Sparkling Silver, JCW Hardtop, which comes standard with Anth. Headliner, Piano Black, and Gotham Grey interior. I don't have a sunroof and picked the Redwood Red Lounge Leather. The red compliments the black and the color combo looks sweet! My MA has his own site with some great interior pics ... it may help you decide ... check it out at: http://www.minicooperinfo.com/

I can't give you much insight about the blue color line...I chose not to go with it. 3DogDepot has the blue color line and it looks nice from the pics...hopefully she will stop by with a pic for you.

But I can give some insight on the piano black. I have a LaB/S, sunroof, anthracite, punch carbon leather and I chose to go with the piano black interior and grey color line. So mine is pretty dark on the interior...and I love it!! (I also went for the chrome line interior...love that too). I really like how the piano black carries over for a perfect match on the doors.

There are a few more pics in my gallery...not the best quality, but hopefully they'll help! Have fun with your configuration!!!

I think Tuscan Beige with Laser Blue would be much more interesting than black. If you go with Tuscan Beige, the English Oak dash would be a good compliment. It gives you Piano Black on the doors and Englsih Oak on the dash.

Piano black would also look fine. I have Piano Black and the Anthracite Headliner. It does show fingerprints and scratches more than other surfaces would.

You wouldn't want the blue colorline with Tuscan.

thanks for the input everyone. The tuscan leather looks fantastic. I have to admit, I'm starting to lean back towards going with BRG instead of laser blue. My wife really doesn't like the laser blue, (her favorite is sparkling silver, but it's just too tan to me) and I didn't quite realize that laser blue is a bit different from the electric blue I've been seeing (and liked) on regular MINIs around town.

however, i think laser blue and tuscan leather could be a very cool combination. decisions decisions.

Sorry for the delay, been out of town all day.

Here's a shot of my interior with the Blue Color-Line and Brushed Alloy. Looks a little dull in the pic., but it's actually quite striking in person. The Pacific Blue is not an exact match for the Laser Blue exterior, but used just as an accent in this way, it works perfectly without being overdone or cheap-looking. Brings a nice bit of color to the interior. The textured metal of the Brushed Alloy looks absolutely fantastic on the dash sandwiched between the pebbled black at the top and the blue on the bottom (though you can't really see texture in my photo ). I don't really prefer the matte gray plastic on the door ovals, however. It's the only thing among all my choices that I'm not really crazy about. There is no choice here; that's what comes along with the Brushed Alloy surface. The Fluid Silver door ovals look better, IMO, because they are shiny, but then you only get smooth Fluid Silver plastic on the dash - Just not as interesting a surface, IMO. Either way, it's obviously a trade-off.

Without a sun roof, you have a really dark interior going on particularly with the anthracite headliner, but that may be what you're going for. We opted for a lighter look and are very happy with it. That's the beauty of so many choices.

Absolutely love the Carbon Punch Leather with Laser Blue (though would have liked gray leather even better). Not sure if I would like Tuscan Beige with it only because there's so much yellow in it. Tuscan looks fantastic with BRG or Hot Chocolate, even Sparkling Silver or Pepper White.

Chrome-line is a definite on the interior. Good Luck with all your choices!

I went with Punch leather, piano black and rooster red color line. Everyone that get in the car has a super positive comment about the interior finish. It looks great. Wouldn't change it for anything.

I recall an article on motoringfiile which said that the blue interior was being dropped and would not be available in '09. If that's the case, you'd better hurry up and decide as '08 build slots are getting harder to come by.
