I could have sworn that when I got my Clubman S last week, the ignition/radio would turn off when I opened the driver's door. (I do have the Convenience Package with the Comfort Entry).

Now, when I park the car (key is in my pocket), I hit the start/stop button once and the engine stops but the radio stays on. If I open the driver's door, the radio stays on. I have to hit and hold the start/stop button for the car to shut down.

I might be crazy, but I could swear that by opening the door, the car shut down if the key was not in the ignition. My MA says I am confusing this operation with one of the MANY Test drive vehicles (w/o comfort entry) that I tried.

 

All turns off once you get outside the car and press the button to lock the doors. Or else, as you said, press the ignition button a second time.
