Hello, I am a Amsoil Synthetics Dealer and a New Cooper S owner. Anyone looking for Amsoil products please check out my website and ask for a catalog. I suggest using the Series 2000 0W-30 and our Series 2000 75W90 Gearlube. Gain unmatched performance, cold weather protection and economy you can feel. Most of my customers using it mention how smooth the engine has become when switching from other brands. The 0W-30 even has a 35,000 mile guarantee. We also have retail accounts for vendors who want to carry the very best.
As I did with my Miata I will be taking and posting Oil Analysis samples on my site from my Mini so visit periodically!

Order any oil case directly through me (non catalog) and mention this post and I will include a free bottle of P.I. (Performance Improver). The Fuel additive that keeps injectors clean, reduces emissions and boosts fuel economy. One bottle treats 160 gallons of fuel. (Regularly $7.30) All oil directly from me is sold at cost. Reduced shipping from 10 coast to coast warehouses.

Thanks!

Thanks for the post. I used AMSOIL gearlube in my RX-7 that was a little rough shifting from 1st to 2nd, especially when cold. Worked like a charm. What, if anything should I be concerned about from a warranty perspective with MINI?

There are no warranty issues. Good and common question.
Denial of warranty coverage must be specifically due to an oil related failure. All courts of law will find against any manufacturer or dealership that tries these warranty shenanigans.

If any automobile dealership insinuates that your warranty will be void if you use AMSOIL products or utilize extended drain intervals, let AMSOIL INC. know the name of the Dealership, the address, the owner's name and the name of the employee that made this statement. Mail to:

AMSOIL INC.

Attention: Technical Services Department

AMSOIL Building

Superior, WI 54880

or e-mail to tech@amsoil.com

They will almost never put it in writing, but if they do, please send us a copy of that, too. Either way, we will send them a letter informing them cease the intimidation of our customers.

Only if the oil is determined to be the direct cause of the engine problem can a manufacturer or dealership deny warranty coverage for that specific problem. In this situation the AMSOIL warranty would apply, and the AMSOIL Technical Services Department would assist you in processing your claim and in getting the vehicle repaired. That's our pledge to you. AMSOIL INC. sells millions of gallons of oil per year and warranty claims are a rare occurrence. If you ever have a warranty problem with an automobile manufacturer or dealership, AMSOIL will assist you by analyzing the problem and providing data supporting the fact that repairs should be made under the vehicle manufacturer's warranty. If this does not resolve the problem, AMSOIL will submit a claim with our insurance company and request that an adjuster have the vehicle repaired and pursue legal settlement later if necessary. The fact is there never has been an engine failure attributed to the non-performance of AMSOIL products, and we do not expect there ever will be. If it ever did, both AMSOIL and our insurance company would make certain your problem was resolved.

Thanks for the info... Along with the article about the differences between synthetics, and the fact that Amsoil really is no different in price, compared to the other synthetics... I'll be looking at picking some up when I change my oil... (no, I don't work for synthetic whse. also..)..

I just got news from Amsoil the production of a 2-stage oiled - foam air filter will begin shortly. I had to work hard to convince them as they normally only make filters once sales figures reach a certain # for a particular automobile. They now realize that the owners of the MINI are enthusiasts and are more in tune with economy and performance than your average car buyer today. The cost for this filter should be VERY competitive with the K&N product and as you might know the Amsoil 2-stage filters have more than twice the surface area for exceptional filtering and airflow.

For Amsoil Dealer registration - the first time in 15 years the fee to become a Amsoil Dealer and yearly renewal increases from $20.00 to $30.00 due to printing and mailing costs. This is effective October 1, 2002. For the meantime anyone that signs up from now to the first of next month by faxing in the registration form on my site, I will also send you a Oil Analysis pump w/ hose free. $25.00 value. Just let me know and when your ordering # is ready i will have one sent out to you.
An Amsoil dealer in its most basic form is the best way to purchase products at wholesale and stay informed with what's really happening in the lubricants industry. Also shipping discounts apply.

No,
You just change out the filter at the factory recommended interval and top off. The service life of each oil is printed on the back of each bottle and I also have a guide posted at my site. I can also email one to you. For the BMW type the only way to use a Amsoil filter is with the remote kit. I will be working on a solution or a suggestion with the Moss kit soon.
Thanks!

I was just reading through there, and I know the benefits of AMSOIL as I used to work for a Lube shop here in town, but what I was curious about was the comment that AMSOIL isn't much more expensive than other synthetics, I'm not sure about your prices (i haven't checked, my current vehicle wouldn't be worth the money to purchase AMSOIL) but I know here AMSOIL goes for like $8-$9 a quart, whereas Mobile 1, Castrol Syntech goes for like $4-$5 tops. I'm just curious as to where they are buying AMSOIL for the same as Mobile 1.

You have been going to the wrong places then!! Amsoil through me is less than 5.00 per quart. If you want our type III (7500 mile oil) it's less than $4.00 a quart.
That's not bad for oil that will last you the whole year and guaranteed.

The filters are now available for the Cooper S. these are 2-stage oiled foam filters. They are the drop in type designed to increase air flow and save you money. Due to the amount of surface area their filtration is superior to the wetted gauze type. Once a year they can be washed in a detergent solution and re-oiled with the Amsoil Filter-oil. Cooper S filter $32.00.

Be sure to scroll through the various products in my "Product Info" area. Read the data sheets under Engine Oils and drivetrain lubes. I just switched to the Amsoil 0W-30 this weekend and right away noticed a much smoother engine. I am now recording mileage as with the oil I have installed the air filter. Regardless, the 0W-30 is the only synthetic motor oil backed with a 35,000 mile guarantee (or one year) see the indexed page below for more info:

We have a free catalog you can request and if you are totally new to synthetics I have a limited # of a particular 8 page brochure I can include with your catalog.
Thanks,
