CE light and brake light

I drove the wife's MINI in to work today since I'm hoping to start on a brake job this afternoon. The brake light came on about 2 weeks ago (right before vacation wouldn't ya know). Anyway, driving her car in this morning and the Check Engine Soon light is on as well as the Brake Sensor. The question is - could the two be related? I'm planning on stopping off at autozone and get the codes pulled. Also I made an appt for the CE but it's not until 7/8.

the car is a 2006 MCS.

Autozone pulled the code. It's an O2 sensor. The car has 48,200 on it. Are O2 sensors covered under the 50K warranty?

Did Autozone clear the code? If it was a random event that through the code it will clear itself after a few drives (anywhere from 3-6, can't remember). If it keeps coming back or stays on it likely need to be replaced. Not sure if it's covered, but please let everyone know if they do.

Its an emmision part, so I dont think they have any other choice but to replace it. Most cars emmision parts are covered even longer than their original warranty in some states. I havent looked at the MINI warranty, but I would think they would cover it.

I had to stop the guy at Autozone from clearing it. I've heard so many people tell me that Autozone can't clear the code for you. I've never had them not clear it until this time. I swung by the dealer for a bolt for the caliper I that I partially stripped while doing a brake job on this car and asked the SA about coverage. O2 Sensors are covered under warranty and this car has 48,200 on it so I'm good. Tinkerbell has an appointment on the 8th.
