Hunh? Thats ridiculous, I never heard of a company refusing to sell products to a customer. Was there a reason?
I have to say the Redline 75-90 is great, you can get it from JSCSpeed and others, but I know I would rather drive down and get fluid myself instead of ordering it. That being said, I'd probably go for the RP. I've run the Mobil1 in my MR2 for years and it seemed fine, nothing special. I have RP in the Mini now, and it's good, but I am running the heavyweight stuff to calm the lightweight flywheel knock.
Use the RP if those are the two choices.
PS the stock fluid is real notchy and firm compared to the RL and RP. Definitely ditch the stock fluid.

and BIG HOWE do you use the RP syncromax, or thier gear max synthetic 75w-90
Well here's the story. Ran the Redline 75-90 and it was great. Put the stage 3 CM flywheel and clutch in and it has some healthy FW clatter. Tried different Redline fluids to no avail. Read a UUC tech article about this issue(clatter) in BMW tranny's with LW flywheels, and they said use one bottle RL 85-140, then top off with 75-90. Well, theres no heavyweight RL available here, so RP 85-140 Gearmax went in with some 75-90 to fill it up. Compared to the slick as snot Redline 75-90, the RP 85-140 is a bit stiff when cold, but is about 90% as good as the 75-90 when hot. The good part is the FW clatter is reduced by more than half. I may try something else when time permits. The RP 85-140 is still GL-5 rated and is compatible with LS use.
I'd get the best 75-90 you can get your hands on and I'm sure you'll be happy. The change from stock to aftermarket oil was good.
