The Inverted Turtle Society

Ok, in trying to keep a sense of humour about my crash, I have put this in the Exterior Mods forum . If you have the dubious distinction of having rolled your MINI, I can add your name to the honour roll and will send you a sticker when I get them made up. Here's the T.I.T.S. graphic...

One club I DO NOT wanna join.... (well, this and QOC makes two clubs).

But hats off to Big Daddy for having a great attitude and putting all this in perspective.

Love the name and the humor.
Glad you see the funny side of your accident.

It was back in late summer of '05, but, sign me up.

I still have the same MINI, it was a rather low speed roll. This was how the car came to a rest, but it was fully upside down. Note the dented roof.

Sorry to see this. But, you qualify and are added to the honour "roll".

You are now a Brother In Good-standing of The Inverted Turtle Society. Feel free to add the acronym B.I.G. T.I.T.S behind your name in any future correspondence.

My old MINI was totalled by the insurance company. I'm now driving an '05 HB/HB MCS....and it's coming along really nicely. Thanks for asking.

does it have to be a mini? I rolled my old blazer a few years back in an empty parking lot-try explaining that one to the police

To keep it exclusive, I'd say yes, it has to be a MINI.

How did you explain that one though?

If I included all SUVs that have rolled, I'd go broke giving away free stickers.

I'm not sure I quite qualify. Only tipped mine over on its side. Repair estimate is over $10,000. Hope to get it back before the 4th.

Hmmmmm....sorry, that's only a partial inversion. You get half a sticker.
Hope your car is well again soon.

I've never rolled a vehicle, but I think it's important to find an empty lot around the first snowfall and tear out some donuts and the like. Refamiliarizing yourself with winter handling techniques is wise.

No problem. Glad to see everything is working out for you. Any secrets we should know about as far as what you plan to do to this one?

Fortunately, the insurance company allowed me to remove all the go-fast parts and other mods as long as I put the oem stuff back on. In just over 3 hours Chad from DT and me removed and replaced shocks, springs, control arms, exhaust system, IC diverter, OCC, plug wires, strut bar and plates, gauges, a brand new trans-axle assembly, harness and CG-Lock, fog lights, and of course, my Whalen shift ****. Whew! Almost all of it is now on my new MINI.

I totally agree with you on making yourself familiar with the limits of the cars handling in a safe and risk-reduced situation, however none of that helps much when a massive amount of $#!t hits the fan, unfortunately.

Wow, that's too cool !!! Well, best of luck with the new MINI, and don't forget to add that iconic item that made your MINI standout. The cool old school chrome outline on the side of the car.
