Golf Clubs in the Clubman

Really like the Clubman but have one concern and that is storage for clubs. I am used to having my clubs in the trunk of my Passat. Looking at the rear storage, I know they will not fit across the back. I know they will fit lenghtwise if I fold a rear seat down. I think if I tint the windows, I could get comfortable with having them in there.

The question is if I need to carry 3 other people (or my two little ones in the back seats, would a light weight carry bag fit diagonally in the back (i.e., bottom on the floor and top angled up to the window)? I figure I would need to take the driver out and put something over the clubheads to protect things.

Thanks in advance!

I currently have my clubs in the rear, I had to lower one of the rear seats to get them in...not a problem since I dropped the seat behind the driver. I don't usually carry other passengers except my wife so we don't use the back seat. I like the barn doors in that I can do the old "trunk sitting" without hitting the trunk lid or sitting in the driver door. I don't have tinting yet, but have left the privacy screen on so that you can see only half of the bag (the flash of the yellow UMd golf bag is under the screen). I plan on getting tinting once I return from vacation.
Basically - No I don't think you can fit the clubs and three passengers.

The measured length diagonally as you asked is only 41 inches maximum. So with the diameter of the bag and all I would not expect to get anything longer than about 35-37 inches in there at best.

So it really depends on the length of your clubs.

To and from the golf course will be a requirement of my soon-to-be Clubman... With one rear seat down, can you stack golf bags on that one side?

The scenario I'm wondering about is three people and three bags? No one I play with has a tour bag or even a big cart bag - we all seem to have variations on stand bags. Could you get three stand bags on one side, with only one rear seat down?

Yes you probably could get three stand bags on the one side..there is plenty of verticle room and some extra side room around my bag (stand bag).
I would say yes it is possible - 3 stand bags - 3 people. You would get to the course rather quickly, and if it was a mountain course could out do the big trucks on the curves. Besides, the width of the Mini Clubman, would allow you to ride the cart paths, in the event they run out of golf carts!

I don't think you can get a set of clubs and 3 folks in the car at the same time if 2 of them must be in the back.

I carry my clubs around a lot and I'm not sure how you would do it.

What about if you take your woods out of the bag and lay them in the trunk? How long are drivers these days anyway?

Driver plus 2 passengers = 3 no problem, and three stand bags no problem, if you have the seat down behind driver..

Went by the dealership. Fit easily with the seat down. With the seats up, if I took the driver out, I could fit it with the base in the lower right and club heads close to the window. Definately an emergency only type storage but doable.
