Hi all, I got a call from a friend of mine who runs the Lakewood Observer, a local paper. He asked me if I wanted to be in Lakewood 4th of july parade. When I said yes he told me to bring all the minis/MINIS I could find as well as any other wierd little british cars. Figured it would be fun for all the BRM people. Already talked to becky about making BRM signs/banners to put on a few of our cars if we get enough people interested. Greg Zito is already in. We would have to be at the corner of Webb rd. and lake rd. in lakewood, 44107 (for you mapquest people) at around 9am. I will figure out a good place for us all to meet ahead of time so we can come storming in as a group. If anyone is interested I will find someplace we can meet for breakfast. The parade ends in Lakewood park where they have a fourth of July festival going on for anyone that wants to haang around after. There will be no excuses about alrerady having plans for the 4th, nobody goes to partys at 9am! You can email me if you have any questions and I will post more info as I get it. So who is coming?

In lieu of working this afternoon, I wanted to make sure I currently had the last post in every one of these forums...

 

Is anyone going to mad at a MINI with Union Jack Flags all over it, when it is (July 4th) a parade that pretty much is about the fact that the US beat the British

 

Gottamini ask the same thing. I don't think so its not like we are driving cars with American Flags on Indian Reservations or Hawaii. I guess I am just not PC. America won and everyone will just think we are cute. Even if we are mean.

Do we want to do breakfast or just meet up? if we are just meeting up the Pub is 5 minutes from the parade route and everybody already knows where that is so we can do that. If you want to eat let me know, I know a few places.

 

OK, I guess we are meeting at the starbucks that is right near the pub at 8am. if you are pulling out of the pub parking lot, turn right and starbucks is on the left about a block down.

i had a great time. it was cool to see every one that lined the parade route get excited for our mini's. did any one get a pic of the cars at crocker park before johnny law came and busted us up . any way want to thank every one for coming and hope to see you all next saturday

 

Jon thank you for the invite, Greg thank you for coming up with something to do after the parade.

We had a total of 8 MINI's. Missy Mowe thank you for letting the girls ride with you they had a great time, and now you know how to fold the screen, Thanks to Wellzy reading directions(it's a miracle). Mowse Kurt had a great time riding with you.

Next year we need a guy on a horse yelling "the British are coming", it was fun watching everyone get excited about the cars.

Hopefull we will see everyone next week at the BRM meeting.

 

Thanks everyone for coming. Jim from the Lakewood Observer (the big guy driving the red isetta) who invited me and everyone I could bring said to thank you all as well. Had a blast. We have to go bigger next year and figure out some low speed syncronized driving or something instead of just being in a line . Sorry Monica and I had to bail out early, I never get holidays off. Anyone get any pics? I only got 2. I will find out where all the pictures Jims wife and the girl in the sidecar took and post them soon.
