To What? I just checked Fine Living for 8/24 on my Tivo and came back with nothing. What Show - Carography?... Road & Track? None of them mention anything about MINI.

One more vote for TIVO. The best thing since television itself. If you don't have one, do yourself a favor and GET ONE!!!

You don't have Tivo? Really?

Actually, I guess I'm just as bad. My Tivo's only working on three cylinders -- I live in a teeny tiny rural town out in the middle of nowhere (pop. 1,000,000) so I've never even heard of the Fine Living channel or TechTV or NBC or ...

If you guys really want a treat, and have or plan to get DirectTV, get the combo unit (DirectTiVo). The digital bit stream gets directly recorded onto the hard drive, so there is absolutely no loss in quality in the analog conversion process.

Dish Network is even better (IMO). I got the PVR (like TIVO) upgrade for only $50 and you don't need to pay monthly fees.

Let's see how long it takes to incite a DISH PVR vs. TIVO war.

My buddy works at Tivo and I sent him my unit since it had some issues. Now I have 120 gig memory. Setting it for Sunday. What was the show or Keyword you used to find it?

Fine Living channel is channel 232 on Direct TV. It is the program I think it is, they been showing it for about 6months. It's on every couple weeks. Worth seeing though.

Dish Network and Direct TV merged last year. There units and plans are still separate for now.

OMG...Tivo has SO much more of a polished interface and is far more stable than that offered by Dish. Have you ever used the DirectTivo? If you have, you would know what I'm talking about and never go back. TiVo is more akin to the world of MINIs and Apple and DISH/PVR is uhhhh..not. I will admit that there is a lot of cool educational and extra non-commercial stuff on DISH that I do miss.

what's the average setup/maint. cost of DirectTV with Tivo? And do you have to have an additional dedicated phone line?

The cost of the TIVO service is $5 in addition to DirectTV programming. You can find incredible deals if you're a new subscriber. All units require a phone connection of some sort (no new line needed). Or, I've added a little device that lets me plug it into my router in place of the phone line.

I will be making a compilation tape of all mini segments I get on Tivo, including the MCO one. All those in Florida, at events with power I'll bring my small TV and play the videos for any who have not seen them.
