R50/53 latch on glove box

the latch on my glove box does not hold. going over the slightest bump causes it to fall open. anyone else experienced/experiencing this???

I've read that the latch catch is adjustable but I haven't checked into it yet since I don't have the problem. Should be pretty obvious though.

The un-official book of motoring shows a hoagie in the good old air conditioned glove box. You didn't try stuffing a mini keg in there or anything to cool it off did you?!? :smile: :smile:

There are a few threads out there about this.

Answer:

Yes. It happens/happened to a lot of us. There are lots of quick-fixes involving duct tape, velcro and JB Weld, but that's really all beside the point. There is only one true fix:

1) Call your dealer and make sure that they have a spare glove box in stock.

2) Go to the dealer and ask them to replace your glove box.

It's happened quite a bit, and dealers are used to replacing them. Just do it.
