request for a little info...PLEASE

anyone seen these?
http://www.wyvern-mini.com/BC_Suspension.html

megans or BC?
seems not too many people have experience on the BCs.
Im trying to get a guage on them. Info on the Megans are everywhere but Brian from Wyvern ( really nice guy )
said these were probably a little better.
I was wondering what the masses on NAM had to say. i posted this question on another thread but it was buried
in another title.
any help here would be greatly appreciated.

to clearify, i have read alot of the megan and alot of the BC thread and i cant figure out which one is best for me. R53 and i dont care about ride quality. not really looking to lower it too much and main purpose is street use with an occasional autocross. ( not many )

If you don't want to lower much and don't care about ride quality, then ether the BC's or the Megan's will fit the bill nicely !

Both Megan and BC have a nice design in that they have separate hight and spring adjustments and adjustable damper control, They both can be found at a very affordable price as well ! They both will lower around 1.5 inches although Megan is trading out front springs to allow for a "little" (very little) more drop up front. I bought a set of the Megan's a few months ago and was very frustrated with there lack of drop and there was a major problem with compression over imperfections in the road. They just didn't feel like they were designed for a mini !

There seems to be a lot of experimenting going on with both the Megan's and BC's trying to improving on the same problems I had but, I haven't heard of any success as yet. After receiving the replacement springs and shocks and constant adjustments, I grew tired of the problems and bought a set of Cross coilover's to replace the Megan's. They were perfect right out of the box but at a cost ! The Cross coilover's were twice the price of ether the Megan's or BC's but well worth it in my opinion ! I only wished that I had saved up my money and bought what has turned out to be one of the best mods I've done to my car !

if you aren't looking to go to low... why go with coilovers? why not either just get springs or springs and some konis?

I have been talking with a few people i really trust and 1 of them has driven my vehicle and knows my exact wants, and they have all recommended coilovers as my next mod. the stock suspension just isnt cutting it anymore. I dont want to go the " springs and a rear sway bar route" with all necessary respect. just not they way i want my car to handle.

$2300 on what?

The benefit of coilovers over a spring-strut combo is the adjustability. It allows racers to fine tune exactly what they want, beyond just ride height to dampening and rebound, to camber and whatnot depending on the kit you get.

If you really plan on fine tuning it or just want coilover bragging rights than definitely go for it, coilovers will be perfect for you. But if you are going to set it and forget it you are paying for things you won't use or even benefit from, in some cases they may actually be detrimental to your handling.

It's up to you, i think there was a set of brand new Koni coils for $900 in the marketplace. I also don't benefit regardless of your choice so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

well i have bc's so i'm biased. remember that coils are going to make the ride a little harsher....but you can lower your mini and have easy adjustability. that said, if you're not gonna track/autocross that much, you might want to consider an adjustable rear sway bar, ultra high perf non-runflats, and front camber plates. you'ld have a mini that handles with the best of them...and a nice stock like ride

isn't it nice to have so many opinions out there!!

my bad, ive been having alot of coilover discussions lately. the 2300 i refered to was for cross coilovers-too much for me.
honestly i could care less about"bragging rights". I have been told by some of the best people i know to get coilovers. Im looking for extreme handling. im not against spending some money but do want the best handling i can get for my money.
like i said lowering and ride quality dont matter much to me but powering through twisties does. for some backstory i have a 03 R53 with a butt-ton of mods and have gotten to the point where i realize the stock suspension lacks. i can feel the car wanting to make the turns but just not being able to. I have driven a vehicle with a rear sway bar and felt like the butt was going to come around on me and didnt like it much.
If i am going about this all wrong then please correct me. Im open to discussion and am hungry to learn. So far im just going from advise i got from people who havent steere dme wrong to date. truth be told however im a suspension moron. ive never owned a car with anything but stock suspension so bare with me. If coilovers wont offer the most bang for my buck then enlighten me please.

seriously i value any input here as long as its constructive. If coilovers result is lowering but great handling is gained then im willing to do it. basically ill spend the money tell me what to do. its a learning process im sure. without the help from people like raiyu this would be me for everything on my car.

What exactly do you want to do with coilovers. Are these for street or race. No need for them for street.
