Civic Si vs MINI Cooper S revisited

A bit ago, I posted about test driving a 2006 MINI and a 2007 Honda Civic back-to-back at Carmax, with my bias leaning toward the Civic. After reading the responses, I got the chance to test drive an 08 MCS. The newer vehicle felt better put together than the 06 I drove (switchgear and door slam were improved IMO.) And I finally felt the infamous go kart handling. Something must have been wrong with the 06 that I had test driven, because it did not deliver that same experience. As suggested, I suspect the tires.

After weighing the pros and cons of each, I configurated and ordered a Lightning Blue with Black MCS and placed my order this evening.

Thanks for the advice, politeness and enthusiasm. Seeing how many people truly enjoy their MINIs helped to make my decision. I've participated in other car forums for a long while, and few owners are as appreciative of their cars as MINI owners. I can't wait to share the passion.

Congrats. You will get more attention and fun than the Si. Civic will always be a Civic no matter how much mods you have.

Congrats!

I agree on the Mini community being much nicer than most other automotive forums. I noticed that right away. Everyone seems to be very helpful and friendly here.
