Clubman 2008 vs. 2009

Now I am being told by my ma that I should be happy, despite the 4 to 5 month deliver time I was quoted, because I will be getting a 2009 Clubman! Besides the color changes, does anyone know what if any changes are from 2008 to the 2009 year models. About the only change I can see will be a price increase!

From what I have been reading we don't get to find out the 09 changes until sometime in July... I hope I won't be sorry but I couldn't wait for the 09. I am borrowing someones car until I get my Clubman because of the problems I had with my brand new Land Rover. But congrats on getting an 09 you will have to tell us all what you find out!

What are the new color changes between '08 and '09?

Some of the option packages will be rearranged and repriced. If you go to the MINI website and build a JCW, you can look at the different packages.

If they go back to the HK stereo, we 2008 owners should file a class action lawsuit!

I heard that it would be a metallic black without the blue flake

I take delivery likely in Sept and have no idea whether it's an 08 or 09.

But the way I see it, there won't be a clear advantage (or disadvantage) to either.

If 08 - lower pricing

If 09 - higher pricing, but greater resale, but who knows whether the greater resale will be enough to offset the higher pricing.

If it were up to you, would you rather have an 08 or 09 all things considered?

08 definitely. Unfortunately I got my order in 3 days too late so I get the 09 pricing and the 09 feature uncertainty.

Uhmm...yeah...didn't mean to start any thing, just saying it would be a good thing for those ending up with '09's. But I still don't think it's going to be enough to offset the pain of the alleged price increase, I think I'd rather have an '08 without the HK.

I've heard we might get the "shift light" in manual transmission cars, but that is one item I don't even want.

Well, if you're receiving a JCW Clubman, it's considered an '09. Mine is due in September, being built this week. Don't really care if it has the HK or the Hi Fi radio as I can;t appreciate good music anyway...unless it the sound of an engine being wound to redline.

Where did you find the information on 2009 price increases anyway? MINI didn't post any price increase information for the 2008 models until early October last year...and there were no increases on both the Cooper and Cooper S for 2008.

So, unless you're getting one of the JCW versions your car should be an '08 model year car

About that seven shades of silver, but I have to say that it is probably the best color when it comes to not showing off how lazy one is when it comes to detailing. Sparkling Silver may be neck and neck, though.

I've got an 'o7 Mellow Yellow MCS and just picked up my '09 Clubman S Friday. Other than the speedo going to 160 and the one touch up windows there isn't a great deal of difference over all. Now from an '08 to an '09 Clubman, I don't know.

I guess the 09 doesn't have the slot in the boot for the warning triangle.
