R55 Problem Solved! Rear Seat Protector
Problem Solved! Rear Seat Protector
I ordered the checkered Boot Protector for my Clubman, and picked up a set of steps...all with the brilliant intention of using both pieces of equipment to make transporting my beautiful dog Sapphire easier.
Two problems: The Boot Protector was backordered, and Sapphire did not take kindly to the steps.
Solution: Contacted the dealer and asked if there was a Rear Seat Protector available for the Clubman. The answer was -- yes! So I canceled the Boot Protector and ordered the Rear Seat Protector instead. I picked it up yesterday, my darling husband installed it this morning, and Sapphire was a HUGE fan of crawling her way up into the back seat instead of facing those mean steps up to the boot.

Installation was very easy (being able to read pictures helps!). Now if the harness I ordered for her will just come in off of backorder, we'll be all set!
(and this is Miss Sapphire enjoying her favourite pastime)

It was $270. There wasn't an option for different colors listed in the catalog. I ordered it sight-unseen (no pics in the catalog at the dealerhip...my MA said if it wasn't what I wanted/needed, they would sell it on the floor)...and I'm pretty thrilled with it!
(looks like the red trim would go very well with your Chili Red Clubman!)

We are indeed!!!
I was especially happy to see the covers for the back side of the rear seats. It does an amazing job of coverage back there! Doggie was especially happy today when I rode in the back seat with her
.
That is about hilarious.
You played Stump The Dealer and didn't even know it!!! Maybe your MA will give you a prize!!!
I had seen the Rear Seat Protector for the R56 in the Motorer's Guide to the You-Niverse, and thought I'd ask if they made one for the Clubman by chance...it took a little digging, but they found it somewhere in their text catalog back in the parts department!

...it's never hard to get me to talk about her! She's my angel. She turned 14 last February, and she's been mine since the day she was born (her mother was our family's dog). She got her name from her one blue eye (SO tough to get in photos...but it's a beauty, just like the rest of her!). She's a bit arthritic and not so good at straight lines
(hence the difficulty with the steps...too narrow for her!), but most days you could never guess her age. She's still got a ton of spunk and miles of personality.
Thanks
Ahh...Daytona and Rusty are both Gorgeous!
Rusty reminds me a lot of Coa-Coa...my first Dalmatian. Beautiful!!! Unfortunately Coa-Coa only lived three years...
kidney stones got him
. He was amazing though! And thankfully we haven't run into anymore kidney stone issues with any of the other Dals.
Sapphire gets a lot of comments about her lack of spots
...I always say "She's a white girl, like her momma"
(I'm rather pale-skinned and always got grief about not having a tan). She has a ton of spots on her skin...they just never came through!
You're welcome! That's exactly why I posted them. This site has been invaluable for me when I was trying to figure out what things really looked like...so I figured I'd give a little back!!!

Do you remember the part #?
Clubdal - Do you happen to remember the part number for the rear seat protector? I would love to pick one up, but I must admit my MA is a little short in the smarts department.
I wrote it down at work...I'll take a look and see if I can find it tomorrow! If I can't, I can always call my dealer and get it. I'll let you know!
Seat protectors and canine passengers
Extending the thread a little- how about ad hoc seat and carpet protectors? I picked up a card table cover that matches my car pretty well, as I hope will show in the photos attached.
Shown is Gromit, a Boston Terrier, who loves going for MINI vacations. He is a picture, framed in the rear barn door window, watching traffic. We get a lot of looks, between him and Fabio (the car).
Note the rear seats in the more upright position, giving more room in back. The cloth also has the use of protecting the rear bumper. As a dog hair barrier, it becomes useless if I cave, and let the seat down so he can get closer to the driver.

I'm doing a little bit of ad hoc work to protect the door casing where Sapphire steps (OK, clambers) in...I have a felt-type black & white spotted blanket that I am going to use to lay across there when she's climbing into the car.
Thanks for the advice, MINIdave - I will do that! She's on daily Glucosamine with MSM now (which has helped TREMENDOUSLY).
Rimadyl can be very hard on the kidneys, so I'm sure your doc will do all the preliminary tests. Then they will check again about 2-3 months after your pup has been on it to see if there's been any change.
My Choc lab was on it for about 6 months before she died (not related to Rimadyl) and it helped her a lot.

.They're machine washable - and yeah, they can be easily removed for cleaning! It took my husband about 10 minutes to get it all installed the first time...they would probably uninstall in less than five minutes. (And I would expect future installs to take less time...there's always a learning curve the first time around!)
