Still doesn't make sense to me, but whatever.

NOTE: While initially appearing somewhat directional, the Potenza RE760 Sport tread design is only asymmetric, allowing tires to be mounted on either side of the vehicle.

They are not directional. They are asymmetrical.

Each tire can be symmetric or not. For asymmetric tread designs the tire will be marked that one side faces outward and is visible. Make sure the tire is mounted this way.
The tires can then be freely rotated front to rear on the same side every 3000-5000 miles. Some owners can rotate right to left but most of the wear will be on the fronts.
Directional tires have no true outside facing side to the tire itself but is marked to show the direction of travel for the wheel. Then each wheel is installed on the car using the direction arrow and can be rotated front to back on the same side.
