Am feelin slightly confused. Was motoring down the highway w/ fuzzy face on our goldwing motorcycle yesterday when we actually passed a MINI!! I was screaming into the intercom "Look Look --- that's how our's is gonna look!!" Voice of hubby came back -- "Oh no, honey. Our's isn't gonna look anything like that one." ?????????? I push his dang beard outta my eyes and check in rearview mirror.
mini S -- check
chili red/white roof --check
silver wheels ---- check
black bonnet stripes -- check

Hmmmm --- okay, ain't taken any major drugs in last half hour (LOL)
Did my ever-lovin sneak to dealer while I was at beauty shop (talk about a REAL lost cause!!) and change our order? Fuzzy face then states that OUR mini will look totally different -- it's an '04. ??? Shucks, even dumb ole me knows that the 04 is part of an 8 year body production run so no changes there. Was da color different? Nope, chili red is da same. Roof? Wheels? What the heck-- do the 04's come with a naked lady painted on the hood or somethin!! Hubby then says: "Sweetie, our mini will look totally unique just cause it's OUR'S." !!!!! So now y'all can see why da man drives me totally nuts! The poor lil car ain't even here yet and already F.F. is turnin into a snob about it. Is this something that occurs with all new mini owners or do I need to increase his dosage of Prozak??

Nah...don't double his dose. It's called "Pride of ownership"...and everone's car is a lil different, cuz it's their's. Ya might want to practice saying "yes, dear" and "hmmhmm, that's nice honey", cuz as your delivery date draws nigh, he'll just get worse.

Well, I was thinking about this....and I'll have to admit that I've never seen two MINIs exactly the same. Close, but not exact. Little different bonnet stripes...one with nav...one with CVT...one w/ cloth interior. There are so many possible variations. However, if you did see one that appears the same from your point of view, then, yes, its the same! Pull the MINI over somehow and have a good gawk!!!!! Buy the owner lunch...anything to get a good, prolonged look at the car!!!! It'd be cool to get a sneak preview, but once hubby gets his car I'll bet he does some initial mods which will, once again, make you MINI unique. There is something very personal about your own car, especially when you have to wait for your MINI. The wait imprints something on the car that is hard to explain....must be the suffering involved. I think kgdsblu is right....time to break out the "yes, dear..." responses 'cause this dude has a very bad (...yet somehow normal) case. When is your car due for arrival, anyway???? Hope its not too long!!!

Yup, definitely Monday morning (though I'm on "vacation" so I don't know what my excuse is)--I read through more than half of that post, really confused, thinking Fuzzy Face was a dog....

Glad to see you hung around, ticket

On behalf of all the "fuzzy faced" on MCO, let me state quite emphatically that we are not talking dogs regardless of how it may appear!!!

What does a question about Prozak have to do with a MINI? Thought you were moving to the Off-Topic forum. Also you bagged hubby in you last post, you have more than one hubby?

Unless, wait... perhaps you were engaging in the same thing and I just read your post wrong. Boy, that would be ironic, wouldn't it...

If that's the case I'm apologizing now!

I think Prozak and waiting for a MINI are a very logical combination. I have a friend who told me he woke up from dreaming about his MCS to change his sheets. Now THAT's over the top!!!!

(Blowin Toast a kiss!!!) Dear CharLES, Yup, I snuck back in the door. Yuh gotta change them locks more often. WAS a question about mini--- do they look alike. See-- I'm followin da rules. Just bendin em slightly to da left. And what the dickens is this "yes dear" stuff I'm supposed to say? If I started talkin sweet to FF, he's just know I was up to somethin and he'd lock himself in the bathroom again!

AHEM--- (pay attention here CharLES) do have a question. (SEE- am playin nice nice) is there a prob with the paint being too soft and has it been fixed for 04?

Yeah, pay attention Charles!

To answer the question, I'm not an owner yet, but I've been reading like mad. The paint isn't near as bad as others that I've been researching, it's more the bulldog shape of the car that manages to hit everything in its path dead-on.

Insects don't just hit, they pulverize themselves on a cellular level to meld with the paint and practically have to be clayed off. If not dealt with soon, oopsy. Harder objects will chip, but just little chips. It doesn't seem very prone to scratches.

A good waxing/polishing is highly recommended. If you can afford it, a clear bra is ideal. That'd be about 600 bucks for peace of mind.

Hope that helps!

I've gotta say all this talk about FF on prozac is, well, depressing me. Here I just plunked down a bunch of money, am going through the agony of waiting for mine to dock, withstanding worries of soft paint etc., and all for the cause of NOT needing Prozac anymore to be happy.

Now I find out that it is sometimes necessary to increase the dose when you become a Mini owner. Gads am I depressed now.

Also, I've sold several body parts to pay for the car and can't figure out what your problem is with FF asking if you needed both kidneys. I sold one of mine (as well as an eyeball) on EBay and am doing just fine...except for needing more Prozac.

Razhael, MINI won't let you select bonnet stripes in the opposite colour from your roof.
You can, however, get it without factory stripes then get whatever colour you want aftermarket stripes. They can even be a different shape than the factory ones if you want!
Cooperflags.com is a site sponsor and most of the people on here who've purchased there seem happy.

Don't get over-anxious about the Prozac when you come home to find all sorts of boxes from "Mini-Mania" etc. That is just the normal aftermarket stuff to make YOUR Mini special!!

It's a Mini (mental?) thing!!

Cheers!
