No power outlet in the boot????

My recently delivered '08 MCS seems to have a cover, not an outlet with a plug. Is this normal???

Should the obvious be asked? You did try to pull the cover out right? The 07s have a cover as well, which looks great as a cig lighter replacement up front.

Yep. There is nothing there. Only a trim cap to cover the hole in the side panel.

Now that's just odd. First report I've heard. If the hole is there, I wonder if they made it an option?

This is bizarre! Guess I'll check with the dealer. Thanks all.

Well, the Mini dealer didn't believe me either, so I took a run by on my way home today. They checked my car, then they checked every other '08 on the lot. Mine was the only one without a power outlet in the boot. They're going to check with Mini and get back to me.

Me thinks so too, but I found it odd that they would have a cover available to fit that hole. The dealer speculated that the car may have originally been slated for another market, but diverted when my order came in.

Update: No one knows why my car was delivered without the rear power outlet, or why they have a cover for the hole when the outlet is spec'd world-wide. The dealer has ordered the parts to install the outlet.

That is so bizarre. Glad they will set it right. You would think they would notice that at some point during post production inspection.

It's safe to say they didn't test that outlet.
