I'd study the mods closely before I jumped into dropping $$s into that...these cars are pretty complex and folks do/have make mistakes. Then you have to decide about your warranty....especially on a factory tuned JCW!!!

Look into detailing info/supplies unless you are already well-equipped in that department.

Look into any immediate add-ons like a clear bra.

Seek out a local club and see what they're up to.

Hang out on NAM...or even MINI2 if the JCW kit is available earlier over there. Don't forget MotoringFile, too....great info there.

I had 109 day wait for mine. I spent a lot of time here on NAM. It's a long time but in the end it was worth every minute.

lol Already tore through the Italian Job (both of them)

The last '04 S I had was stock so this is killing me.

Lets see....

I have already ordered the dealer installed JCW aero Kit to replace the factory aero kit.

The JCW Spoiler and every other piece of Carbon Fiber they offer.
Waiting patiently for R7 to finish the CF diffuser.

Every carbon

+1000 to all but the mods.

I'm working on turning my little R56 into a JCW car. But I would have loved to have picked up a factory JCW. If I'm buying a JCW, I wouldn't mod it. You aren't going to get much more out of that little engine than Cooper Works already has without serious work.

Find and print the Owners Manual.
Memorize it and look smart when you pick up your new baby.

I was on the Mini Owners Lounge TOO many times each day, listening to that suicidal tune, waiting for status changes. I researched what I could on the main shippers, W&W and K-Line. W&W does allow ship tracking on the WWW. K-Line lets you know the departure and arrival time for your ship only. Your Sales Dude can tell you what ship your baby is on.

I visited this site but didn't create a profile until my ClubmanS was in my hands. That was my mistake. Peeps here are cool and helpful.

Look into some local Mini clubs to hang out with during the summer. I'm sure someone will step up and have you ride shoot gun during any rides you can attend without your newly ordered Mini. Most Mini people are so into their cars that any new Mini friends made will be as excited about your cars arrival as you are.

Hellion, you didn't describe your Mini?
Color combo, etc. A proud parent should have that.

I swear I hear that frickin' Owners Lounge tune in my sleep.

Sometimes I log in, just to SEE : At Dealer.
The FOUR day delay on updates will drive you crazy.
(My Mini was updated to show At Dist Center when the dealer had it!)
Been there, cried laughing. This site is 'most excellent.'

Advice is free:
You need:
Cleaning Supplies
Good wax(you'll want to strip and replace the crap wax) Your choice
Washing towels
Micro rags($5 @ sprawl mart for a 12 pak) for your wheels...every 3rd day.
An enhanced sense of friendliness.
Digital Camera

This morning after visiting the gun range, a truck full of Bubbas(yeah, you can visualize it, complete with the confederate flag) were checking out my ClubmanS.
I used the same line on them that I use on others:"A Suburban gave birth and it gets over 30 mpg." They approved. Then we talked 9mm vs 40 cal.

Here is the list as ordered (Canadian spec):

Piano Black int. with Rooster red ray cloth
Nav
JCW Comfort packgage
Cold weather package (standard on Can models)
Comfort access
Hi-Fi

Ipod adapter

The JCW Aero Kit to replace the factory Aero Kit. (Was not a fan of the stock kit here in Canada not sure if its differnt in the states). I like that the fenders are factory painted.

JCW Strut Brace
JCW Steering Wheel
JCW Carbon Dash
JCW Carbon E-brake handle
JCW Carbon Rear Spoiler
JCW Carbon Scoop
JCW Carbon mirror caps
JCW Carbon trunk handle

and I have a set of 19" WORK VARIANZA T1S rims ready to install when it arrives.

Thanks!

Thought it would work planning on having black red/stripes to tie in the red as well.

Just a quick little interjection; it should have been .40 vs .45...I had an IPSC match today in my new CR/R MC and everybody liked it. now i just need to find a red Hummer to park behind and get a photo. "Look, that hummer just gave birth!"

I gave them my details on what I wanted and they ordered it.. It went into production on the next Tuesday and was finished approx in one week.. sat another week to be shipped, on the ship for 6 days,, arrived at the dist.. center and spent two days there and it is now in New York.. Paper work will be in my hands Tuesday and I will next day a check to the dealer on Wed and they will ship the car the 15th.. Now for the catch.. It is in NEW YORK AND I live in WASH state.. IT WILL TAKE UP TO 2 to three weeks to be at my home.. Not bad... The Wa dealer told me 14 to 16 weeks.. Catguy
