Just picked up an 2008 S, Red Lounge Leather, We Love IT!!

What grade of gasoline do most of you put it the Mini Cooper S? I know the manual says that Premium 91 is prefferred but I'm thinking of just pumping regular gas. What'cha think?

Other than than, I absolutely love this car! After all the cars that I've owned and driven, this puts a smile on my face. IT is easy to park, light on fuel, well made, pretty fast and it is absolutely fun to drive.

The folks at East Bay Mini @ Pleasanton were great! No usuall B.S. when buying the car. The whole purchase took less than 1 hour.

Here are some pics.

We normally put in premium, but I know there are some owners out there who don't. Hopefully they will post on here and give you more details!

Those Red leather seats really stand out and look great with the pepper white!!

I put in premium always. Here, we are lucky to have 98 RON (premium for us) but it cost a bucket and a half these days. Ouch!

Congrats on the excellent MCS!

The premium vs. regular topic has been covered before. Check out this thread https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=50189

My advice don't be cheap buy the higher octane your car will love you for it!! With all those other nice cars in the stable I'm sure you can afford it anyways.

Oh by the way nice car!

Recommended and Required are two totally different things. Use the grade that satisfies your performance, economy, geography and mpg needs. No sense in throwing money down the filler tube. It not a formula one race car for crying out loud.

Nice car.

You should keep those gas hogs in the garage, now that you have the MCS.

Congrats and welcome. Love the pics.

I use only premium, usually Exxon or BP tho the service guy at my dealer swears by Shell. The MINI's engine is high performance like the BMW and premium will make it run more smoothly, more efficiently and cleanly. The mileage you get per gallon is well worth the extra cost of premium.

Thanks for the input. And YES! the gas tankers will be staying home for most of the time. All the cars are huge V8's. That is why we got the Mini. Gas here is $4.81 per gallon w/ 91.

Another Pic. ...it is a shame that we have to park her outside. Did I mention that WE LOVE THIS CAR!?

I love the color combo. I'm going to all of your advise and put premium in.

I will be parking the Rover outside and keeping the Mini in so that I can peek at the Lounge Leather interior every 15 minutes.

I would totally buy this car all over again, in a convertible next year.

Great looking car. I'm about to place an order for mine, and I have already decided I'm going to get the PW/PW with chrome package and lounge leather, but I've been debating whether to get the carbon lounge leather with the cream piping, or go with the red lounge leather like you have. I was leaning towards the carbon, but now after seeing yours I'm not sure.

So many choices.....

Very nice color choice, but I'm a bit biased. I would definitely use the premium gas. Going for the lessor grade reduces your power and actually reduces your gas milage.

Here is picture of my baby which is very similar to yours.

The red seats make the car. You need more garage space. Another Mini (cabrio) and another 3 car garage will work. Tell me you're not considering skimping on gas with all that iron on the property!
