to 19% or not to 19%

so ive searched and found like a million asking about 15% or 17% but no real info on the 19%

i currently have the 16% and well it sucks, i have belt problems, and noticable power loss here and there , had it dyno'd and well that sucked a little to

so here is what i have m7 16%, milltek header, milltek catback, m7 intake, soon to have m7 dfic, plugs, and i beleive stock injectors how ever im running fairly rich

what i want to do, little to no tack use, but i do like shifting all the time like im racing so i stay fairly up in the higher rpms mostly during take off though, aslo like the instant power at WOT

so would you suggest a 19% pulley , or just go with a 17%, if i have to shift at 6k for most of the time im ok with that ive owned only nissans and well most of them dont go past that anyways

thanks
chris

Have you tried using the Gates K060535 Belt? It is the correct size for 15 or 16% pulley.

There are plenty of people out there using the 16% successfully. What is more important is that you have the right belt on there. What size belt are you using now?

Um yeah...a MINIMYTH (tm)

I've had the 16% on for 28k miles now and have no issues. It's not like I baby the car either with it's 8k redline, 240+whp and multiple track days.

I'd chalk that advice up to there being no love lost between the respected tuner and pulley manufacturer.

Well how long ago was that? I would suggest pulling off the old belt, checking it for abnormal wear (indicative of misaligned pulley) and replacing it with a properly sized belt like the one that has been mentioned. What is happening has basically all of the symptoms of a slipping SC belt.

I've had a Helix 19% on for about 35000 Miles, ABSOLUTLY NO problems. I'm running a Gatorback belt also, no problems or slippage. The Tach reads 6500 to 7000 rpm regularly with no problems.
