blinking light on top of revolution counter
blinking light on top of revolution counter
Hello,
I am the very proud owner of a night fire red mini that I picked up from the dealership this afternoon. I have tucked her safely into the driveway and locked the doors.
I noticed there is a red light blinking above the revolution counter. I've checked all doors as well as the Bonnet and Boot. Everything is shut tight. The lights are turned off and on the o possition.
Can anyone tell me why there is a red light and why it is blinking? More importantly can you tell me how to turn it off?
Thank you

congrats and welcome to the family. I think it be it's heart beat.
I bet PGT is right about the SS, might be an after market one that's auto on.

Welcome!
It sounds like the factory alarm to me. Is the light long and narrow? Does it beep once when you lock it and twice when you unlock it? If so, it should be the alarm. On the early models, the alarm light will be on either the turn signal stock or the light stock, depending on how old your car is.
Mine seems to be nothing more than $550 light that flashes! The alarm seems that it will only go off if a window is down and a leaf blows in!
Then again, my can has never been broken into.
If the systems are similar, and I'm guessing that they are, you will have a motion sensor for the interior, glass breakage sensors, and sensors that determine if the car is being jacked up. At least that is what the little pamphlet that came with the red light told me.
