Need Car Seat Help STAT!!!
Need Car Seat Help STAT!!!
We are having our first child soon! My 2003 MCS is being very picky! Does anyone out there know what Car Seats for Infants will work? We have been looking at: Graco Snugride, Maxi-Cosi MICO, Britax - Companion, and the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio. They really range in price and wanted to get the one that will best fit! I know you guys can help! Any would be great! We really want the Britax - Companion... Thanks
Go with the Britax and you're set. It will offer the most room for the passenger. Also search the forum, this question pops up a lot...
Oh and why the drama with the title? Are you having the baby tonight? Last I checked you had 9 months to make a baby... well probably 7 months that the father knows. Not a real emergency on a Sunday night.

I concur. Sounds like nesting has hit full force, and it's the first kid. It's that same strange drive that causes parents to start buying high chairs a full 6 months before they can be used. Been there, done that.
Thanks for the help from what I can tell I thought the Britax seemed the largest... Got a Pregnant wife that had a small meltdown thought this would be the place for some quick answers... BTW thanks for the parenthood counseling session!

I've got the Britax Diplomat in mine. We're using it rear facing right now and will switch to front facing in August.
Oh... nobody mentioned the best part... the hands down easiest way to load the kid is entering from the boot! Open boot, fold down left rear seat, slide kid into carseat and buckle up. Super easy and you get some really odd looks from strangers!
Not sure when the due date is, but Britax usually runs a sale in September. Amazon has sales occasionally also. We bought 2 Britax and saved 20% plus free ship and no tax from Amazon. Keep an eye out. They are spendy, but worth the coin.

Peg Perego Primo Viaggio "bucket & base", and then when baby's older, move up to the Britax Roundabout.
And for when baby can sit up by themselves, a Quinny Zapp mall stroller fits nicely in the boot with plenty of room to spare.
Experience +1.
I loaded our youngest in through the boot and over the seats, since I had the 6 y/o sitting beside him. He was actually quite cooperative in tucking his little head in.
I guess it helped that I am tall and have long arms. (I just left the parcel shelf out for a little while).

+1...in my (limited) experience, the convertibles (including the Roundabout) are usually too big until the baby is 4 months old or so. The Britax seats are fantastic but you're likely going to want an infant seat for the first few months, then switch over to the convertible.
