Remove dealer badge...
Ugh, I forgot to tell Mini of the Main Line in Philly not to brand my new baby, now I have a little metal badge on her back. I'm assuming that a hair dryer and some gentle prying will remove it, but will there be residual adhesive? If so, what's the best way to safely remove that?
TIA,
Richard

Do not try to pry. Use some strong dental floss to to "saw" through the adhesive. Use the hairdryer to warm the badge just a bitt. Letting it get hot may actually harden or dryout the adhesive. isopropyl alcohol from the drugstore works great on the adhesive and is benign to the paint, but the dental floss won't leave much adhesive.

I've used fishing line, but it's not as durable.
Frankly, I'd take it back to the dealer and have THEM remove it. That way, if it damages the paint, they're liable for the fix.
You never asked to have it installed and they never asked you. That is unless they're willing to pay an Advertising Media fee (of say, what was your monthly car payment?) to promote their business.

Ugh is right. I didn't think dealers did that any more. It's bad enough they put their name on the license plate. Which always baffles me why people in 60K cars choose to drive around with a tacky advertisement for where they bought it!
I thought the days when dealers plastered metal badges on the backs of new cars was over! In the old days, some dealers would actually rivet on their badges! My dealer, Habberstad MINI, adds a small silver script decal with their name. It's not a big deal to me, and the silver decal matches the Lightning Blue / Silver color scheme, so I'm leaving it alone. I would be annoyed by a stuck-on metal badge, however.

The dealer badge is not really a big deal to me either way. It's common practice, I knew that, but still I forgot to request it not be put on. So, my bad I guess. Luckily, my dealer's badge is not too tacky, in fact it doesn't look all that bad (to me).
So since we're on the subject, lets see some pics of dealer's badges, good or bad. I'll post mine in a bit.

Fishing line is best. I work for the company that makes all Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep badges and that is how we recommend that people remove them. I've had to replace literally hundreds of badges. I can remember sitting in a sea of Jeep Liberties replacing the Jeep badge on the hood due to a defect. Took us days to replace them all. Oh the nightmares are back!
I don't mind the flow mini license plate frame at all.
They've treated me fairly and I don't mind a small
advertisement for free for them.
I'm very glad they don't stick those ugly metal badges on though.
(the one above is nice however)

MINI of Sterling's badge is not bad, except that it is often applied crookedly, which is why I instructed them not to put it on. That slipped their mind, however, and I had to have it removed when I took delivery.
