Good morning Parker drivers (and the people that love them!!)

Last year I saw posts for a meet up that you guys did on Tuesday nights at Sonic in Parker. I got my car at the end of Sept, so I was not able to participate. Now that the weather is getting nicer I'd love to see if we can bring that back!

Anyone interested in meeting at Sonic on Tuesday evening, like say 6:30?

Over the years

we have done a number of different things at SONIC drive-ins. We still love them.

Tuesdays may or may not be the best time of the week (MOTR meetings are the 1st Tuesday, 5280 meetings are the 2nd Tuesday) but the 3rd and 4th are available, as are Fridays.

As always, our members have the right to call, lead, direct and control any kind of GTG they like. So pick a date, we will calendar it and pub it here, and folks will show. Make it something that works well for you.

There are enough SONIC's that we can rotate N-S-E-W and satisfy all.

Finally, you should frequent the www.SonicDriveIn.com site as they often post coupons that are useful. You can sign up for e-Alerts and they then send them to you. Finally, they have a Birthday Club and you always get something free.....

Yes, but can I have a birthday every time I go? That's the big question!

Wow, I lived in Parker before anyone from Denver had heard of it. No Sonic back then. I still have a hat somewhere from Parker Days "Where the He!l is Parker Colorado?" Not that I'm that old, I was just there while I was young. I left for Wisconsin in 1991. Too many people there now. I'm glad to see there are MINIs in my old stompin' grounds. I was riding horses instead on MINIs back then - oh, and my first car - a Fiat. I rolled that car off Hilltop Road into one of the deep cuts avoiding a deer. I walked away, healed up the bruises, and bought another one. I had the second one long enough to learn that FIAT stand for FixItAgainTony . Still, it part of the reason I was drawn to MINIs. It was a fun little car at the time.

Hey! Loved your stories! I've lived here since '86 when we were 3,000 strong and downtown was a ghost town on nights and weekends. Hills grocery store and very few stop lights! Parker days were fun back then. Everyone knew everyone and it was a big social time. It's way to big and commercialized now. Sheesh, we have super walmart, super target, three mcdonalds and even things like best buy now. You'd be amazed at how things have changed! I sure miss the way it was though.

One of my uncles tells stories about how in his teenaged years they'd go out and paint the town. Mind you that was in the 70s, and they went to Parker to get out of parental radar and get (underaged) drunk and rowdy. Apparently back then there wasn't much to say about Parker, other than there were places to get drunk for teens. Damn kids those days.

I think he went back for the first time in 25+ years recently and couldn't believe how much had changed.

But more toward the topic, if you guys ever decide to have a dinner let me know; I'm not in the parker area (work close), but I might be able to come out for dinner. Meeting with good mini folks is always a good time.

My brother & his wife built their own home in Parker in 1973 - 1974. I have witnessed the changes progressively over 35 years!!!

We would love to drive up some evening to dine w/ Mini friends then possibly drop in on the fam, as well.

Let us know, we might happen to be available to make the trip up!

Mike & Sarah

Can't make it tonight, plans with some other guys to chill out at LoDo's off Quebec. Tonight would be a perfect Sonic night though, supposed to be nice.

Hi again, I rode horses for Burr Betts at the Circle Two Ranch as a kid in the late 60's. The only grocery store was on Main Street. After it burned down they rebuilt on Hilltop - Hills Market. I stayed in the area even after leaving the Ranch. I move out on Singing Hills Road. I saw many of the changes before I left in 91. I hated the growth that was happening. I hear the Ranch has finaly fallen to the developers. It was the large parcel of land between the town and The Pinery, 3500 acres of playground. Man was I ever lucky! Great horses and a beautiful land live and play on. Oh, you all may be interested, Burr paid $50 (yes fifty) an acre when he bought the place. I think in the mid to late 60's.

I went to pickup MrsBean and the carbon fiber goodies look awesome, as do the bonnet stripes, but eibach sent me the wrong springs, so Schomp couldn't install them. Hats off to Schomp service dept for working with me and not charging me for a mistake that wasn't either of ours Now I need to start looking for the right springs and return these (and of course I loved going there and babbling with Shelly lol). Anyway, I shall return to Schomp to have them install the correct springs. More importantly, I feel badly about missing Sonic tonight. I'd love to do this with you, Vicki !!! We can either wait until next Tuesday night or pick another night that's good? I'm normally available

Hey, MrsBean, was it you who picked up MINI #2, the PW JCW R56 looking good on the showroom floor?

I was at Schomp today helping a friend order his 09 JCW Works Hardtop in Laser Blue. Another fine one will motor with us in mid August, I hope.

Yes, that was myself and my husband. Actually MINI #2 would be for him, but MrsBean likes being an only child, so we are still undecided

You should have said HI to the two old guys giving Mike a hard-time at his sales desk.

I was the white haired, white beard guy trying to lead my friend astray, I was successful.

I didn't even notice you there!!! I would have of course said hello! I was beside myself because I was looking forward to MrsBean being lowered but the springs I ordered were wrong .. I would post on the MiniWoes thread but I don't want people telling me I'm a moron for ordering the wrong ones LOL
