Window pains

ARGGHH! Ok, I'm over my rock chip gripe. Now I've moved on to the correction process. My perfect windshield was hit by some rock weeks ago, and last week I called the glass doctor people to seal my chip.

I go out to the car, and this Idiot is leaning on my bonnet, smoking a cigarette and letting the ashes fall on the car. Turns out he's a trainee- no surprise there. He and his "boss" do a decent job on the glass, and go their merry way. And so do I.

Later that afternoon, I notice a flat spot in my bonnet, where this idiot must have used his note pad. I'd just hand washed the car the day before, I'm sure I'd have noticed it if it was there. I can't prove anything- I did just phone the glass holes and they didn't seem too concerned. It just freaking pushes me off when you have to watch every little thing somebody does, when you are paying for car "care".

geez I would definately try to call & report it to the glass people if you think the repair guy caused the damage & it will need body repair. Little late now but may I recommend Diamond/Triumph for you next repair or replacement? They come to you & they do both installs & repairs. They are not perfect but they bent over backwards to satisfy me on both windshields (including free replacement on one of my window trim pieces because they broke it even though it really wasn't their fault because the thing has flimsy clips)

I did call a diamond glass in the phone book, and they said they didn't do cars. I ought to have followed up with you, TT, because I remember you mentioned them. But I wanted to take care of it before the weekend. Now I know.

I did call the Glass Doctors yesterday and register my pains with a manager. Whatever good that'll do. Maybe I'm overreacting, the "dent" is the size of a thumbprint- but that's not the point. They use questionable service reps and I hope nobody else gets the same "service".

Oh no that had to be the wrong Diamond Glass. I used to have a receipt from them in my desk at work. I will see if I can find it & post the phone number here for future reference
