MINI Family... Nice!
So I just want to share this...
I had to stop today at one side of the road to make a phone call, while waiting there with the hazard lights on, I saw another Red Mini Cooper (but convertible) making a U-turn and then he stopped in front of me. Then a big guy came out of the MCS and walked to my car to aske me if I needed help... i told him i was just making a phone call... So then he told me he decided to stop to see if needed help. Just for being a Mini brother...Niiiice!
And yesterday I saw a guy by i-595 (Miami) in another Red MCS who horned to say hi when passing by. It is very nice to feel like being in a family, the Mini family... I bet that would never happened if I had gotten a Civic... hehehe
Thanks

I always try to wave and honk to other fellow MINI motorists whenever I get the chance
It was nice to see you. I think you took the northbound exit towards I-95 shortly thereafter.

What a small world!

HEy!! heheheh great! thanks!... that is cool!
Paipuky, it was me the guy in the red MCS with the union jack roof flag that honked at you yesterday (around 12:40PM) while riding eastbound on the 836 expressway. I recognized your car and your front custom euro plate that reads "Paipuky"

Mine had an extended front end and in the total dark it could be mistaken for a Harley [from the distance.] It was a Suzuki.
A white van pulled up ahead of us.
Two Hells Angels dudes got out and walked toward us. One guy said "Oh, we thought that was a Harley. If it was we were going to take it from you."
They turned around, did not say anything else, got in their van and calmly drove away.
We being immature high school seniors went back to my friend's house, got his dad's 45 ACP [that's a pistol] and went looking for them.
God was with us that night because we never found them. Don't know if we would have done anything anyway, but we were pissed about the audacity of those creeps.
Moral of the story for me: whenever I pull over on the road, anywhere, I keep one eye out for anyone who might be pulling over to commit a crime. It's a crappy world we live in.
Second moral of the story: Cool off, don't be looking for suspects to have a shootout with.
Here in San Francisco there's a MINI, two or three on every block. As you may suspect, no one in a big city gives a rip about someone else in his or her MINI.
And waving, no way. We would have to wave every intersection.
When in my "rented" MINI from City Car Share no one has waved to me when around town. Such is life in San Francisco.
But if on the highway away from this town, I look forward to waves from fellow MINI owners.
In contrast, I have Ducati sportbikes. Everyone in town waves to each other [that is, riders on any kind of sportbike that is a serious model, R1, Ducs, Hayabusa, etc.] And on the open road all sportbike riders acknowledge each other.
And when on the highway sportbike riders always pull over to render aid to fellow riders.
