Glove box headache.

I posted this issue a while ago. I got lots of responces. The problem I am having is that the glove box pops open on bumps. People told me that there are screws to adjust the bar where the latch grabs on. I went the other fday to adjust it and there are only little bolts holding it in. So I tried to adjust it and no luck. It's like the bolts just turn and don't get loose or tight. Doesn't seem to me at all that it's adjustable.. Arg.. Do I need to take the glove box out to adjust it?

Thats what I did, it's not that hard. Then you will see that it is adjustable, back and forth. I actually ground the latch down alittle so it hangs lower. Has been working great .

Well damm.. So the little bolts I can see inside the box dont adjust it? Have to take the box out to do it? I hope not. I just re did alot of things and dont want to have to take it all back out. I covered the down tubes with suede, put a pad under the suede on the drivers side and also ran all the wires for my Sirius radio in the pass side tube.

I had this problem on my '03. I did a search and found an easy fix - only took a few minutes.

Here's the link to the fix:

Thanks for that link! I thought it was just simple screws holding the little latch bar in place. I guess I will take the box out again and adjust it. It sure is annoying going over bumps and having that thing fling open.
