replacing rear brake dust cap

Anyone ever replace the dust cap that fits around the piston on the rear brake? I noticed a small tear in mine while swapping out brake pads. It looks like it just presses onto the circular lip that runs around the piston, but I want to be sure I don't need special tools before I rip the dang thing off and attempt to put on the new one. Also want to be sure I don't have to remove the piston.

I don't know anyway to do this without removing the piston. The outer part of the rubber boot fits into a groove in the cylinder, the inner part fits into a groove in the piston. This basically becomes a caliper rebuild at this point.
