R56 S exhaust on R50 One/Cooper ?

Hi all,

What do you think of putting R56 "S" exhaust on to 1st gen ONE/Cooper? Since R56 S exhaust is straight... better? Anyone tried?

Currently my R50 ONE is running on R53 exhaust. It look and sound better, also the FC improve abit and my butt dyno tell me it perform better (pull smoother/faster) too lol

Thanks

Sure it will fit if you cut and weld.

Sure it will look different.

Not sure if it will work better than stock, same as stock, or worse.

Only a dyno of the base exhaust followed by dyno at same shop with same technician under same conditions with the other exhaust will tell if you'd done something good or not.

You can't assume that it will work or work well.

You might risk poorer performance and poorer gas mileage.

Not sure if you would loose any weight with the swap.

For the MINI ONE, there isn't that much to be gained with an exhaust upgrade alone.

Probably not that bad an upgrade if you can get the R56 exhaust for pennies/pence and the labor is done yourself. Don't throw away the stock exhaust until you've tested the results.

Not sure on the noise, might be louder, might be too loud.

What about an R56 MC exhaust on a MINI ONE?? Are they different?
Hangers for the muffler would be different depending on which year.
